Default Power to Weight Ratio

As I am considering an STi Hawkeye 2.5 next year I thought I would look into the differences in Power to Weight Ratio between the Hawkeye and the Classic to establish what I need to do, to the Hawk to get the Power to Weight on par with my classic.

I was shocked at the results.

My Classic is currenty 335BHP, this roughly works out to be a Power-To-Weight Ratio of 270BHP/Tonne.

So if I want to ensure the Hawkeye achieves a similar 270BHP/Tonne what am I looking at as a total Power Figure ????

Well
.
.
.
Classic Weight : 1235kg
Total Power 333bhp
Equals 270BHP/Per Tonne

Hawkeye : 1495kg
With an equal 270BHP/Per Tonne
Requires a Total Power of 403bhp !!!!!!

And for a laugh and our good friend Nige i thought I would compare the EVO 8 too :

EVO 8 1410kg
With an equal 270BHP/Per Tonne
Requires a Total Power of 380bhp

I always assumed that a Newage/Bug/Blob/Hawk would have to be around 370BHP to compare to a Classic of 330BHP. But the maths and the 260Kg (2 large men in the boot) would seem to indicate that a fair bit more is required.

Hmm.....maybe a re-think of my plan is required.
