As already metioned, its not necessarily the engine that was the problem, but more the map it had from the factory. Its also only seemed to affect the initial batch (1st year or so) of STI's. Strange as the hawkeye had no issues, yet was the forst of the 2.5's, so you would have thought they would have got it right on the hatch too. And moley is right, they changed to the 2.5 due to emissions, nothing to do with torque, although the torque is nice

. Saying that I do miss the punch in the back you get from the 2.0.
