easy to fit, just a screwdriver to remove console, spanner and hammer. Some do not reduce throw that much and some can make it difficult to engage reverse i.e it takes several attempts and clutch presses. Some also have the wrong thread for the subaru gearknob. Best get a recomendation but imho most are overpriced for what they are.

I've got a shifter in the cupboard on the garage thats a really nice short throw but reverse is such a pain that I took it off.
I also tried Wez's one he had for sale a while back. This enagaged reverse OK,but I struggled to notice much difference in throw, when measured I think it was 1 inch less from 1st to 2nd then OE. The shifter that has reverse issue IIRC was nearer 2 inch less throw compared to OE.
