Yes defo remove intercooler to gain easier access to the top side.
Soak top bolts, where fits to turbo with WD40 for 24 hours if possible.
Remove all external heatshields (not the one clamped round the OE cat pipe).
Gearbox mount/bolt may be siezed, so just cut the bracket away.
Get ready to catch it as OE pipe is v.heavy.

Use good quality 14mm socket and ring spanner, to prevent chaffing the nut/bolt heads.


Don't botther to re-fit heat shields, except for top funel one. this will require a trim around the bottom if fitting over a bell mouthed downpipe.
