Autoglym is a 'polish' so is part abbrasive. This Abrasive material is primarily chalk, hence all the dust and residue.
If you use a Wax or Cleanse there is very little, if any,chalk so you get very small amounts of dust.
If you buff on until tacky then buff off straight away i.e on cloth in one hand, off cloth in back pocket ready to use.
This on/off method also works with Autoglym and reduces the amount of dust. Allowing it to dry fully will always creat more dust.
Without getting too Anal about the many products now avaialble, I would suggest Meguiars Gold Class or NTX Tech Wax. The Tech Wax works well on Black and darker colours, as does the Zymol pale blue Wax Cleanser.
I primarily use Meguiars Gold Class on the bodwork and Natey's Paste Wax on the plastics, but only cause I like the smell :
