Default Inner CV Boot easy to change ????

So the saga continues, Done my rocker cover gasket and pleased with how it all went and relatively easy job that one, and fruther more no more oil leak. Used expensive gasket seal and new gaskets.
But whilst I had everything removed I could see the inner passenger CV boot is split in half

Anyone changed one. ?. Never done one before on Any car. Read somewhere there is a dowl or something that needs to be removed which enables the drive shaft to be pulled from the gearbox ?. Can this be done with the other end all still connnected up to the hub etc ?.

I'm doing all this work and not convinced this car is for me It's stupid quick loosing traction of all 4 wheels in the dry in second, but its all very hard core with the bailey DV and lots of noise and attitude. But I've started so I'lll finish...
