without knowing the technical setup - I would say unless they offer a greater stopping surface area of pad to disc, then there wouldn't be much difference.

At the end of the day, its the amount of pots pushing the amount of pad onto the disc that makes the difference IMO. So more pots pushing, or greater surface area of pad onto disc is what will make the diff.
