Yes the ceramic coating is effectively a very hard wearing sealant. Some are effectively baked on to harden and provide a strong barrier to the top coat. You'd still apply wax on top for your own finish. The ceramic is an extreme version of a sealant like jetseal109 which I've used for years on my cars and does a great job. Only lasts 3-6 months and requires a clay bar up clean before going on.
