Bigger is definitely not better for uppipes.

If you're changing the downpipe too, then I assume you'll be doing the uppipe from above and removing the turbo. If so, the bolts on the turbo heatshield will be rusted to hell, mine needed some of them cut off and that was 6 or 7 years ago when the car was well under 10 years old.
