H Simon, I've been cleaning carpets/upholstery for years now and had my own business for 3 years and if it's of any interest to you, wool carpets are much harder to keep clean as they are a natural fibre there's only so many chemicals can be used, if you have children or a lot of traffic coming in and out of your house I would suggest polypropylene or nylon, much easier to keep clean and doesn't cost as much as wool/ wool mix, hope that helps a little
