Its up to you at the end of the day. I've done trackdays both with and without insurance. It doesn't change the way I drive, but then i do my best to stay clear of people that look like they might get into trouble.

Could also be something completely innocent - guy in front's engine lets go and he dumps his oil on a corner for you. You end up in the barrier but neither person did anything wrong in terms of their driving ability.
