I will be going back obviously for family and so forth, I might be able to get a deal with the ferry as Christina (step daughter) has a cousin that works on them,..
The TT course roads are maintained very well, (as bikes need to be doing 200mph on them ofc) however alot of the smaller B roads are very poorly maintained as a result, making the UK seem smooth!!, my car will be going 15/20mm up for the next trip over there.
Having said that most of the main A roads are great fun.
The drive up to Liverpool (Birkenhead) took aprox 4hours 5mins (left at 5.50am on a Saturday) I had 3 hours to kill in Liverpool.. so did a few tunnel runs through the Mersey tunnel :P
I totted up 1200 miles in 6 days
