Don't underestimate that Hawk of yours, if might not be as quick in the twisties as your ex Evo/Tree, But I reckon the scoob will serve you very well and certainly isn't slow. Having had a E46 M3 that hawk would be very closely matched.
But to throw some stats:
E46 M3 power to weight of 216bhp/tonne.
Hawk STI running 350bhp = power to weight of 245bhp/tonne
The E92's have a power to weight of 250bhp/tonne.
Classic circa 450bhp has power to weight of around 350bhp/tonne.
classic 911 turbo 550bhp power to weight of around 480bhp/tonne.
As I've always maintained BHP is great, but after a point, it's all about how much bottle/skill the driver has. I have no illusion that I will be properly spanked by many French cars running half my power on the ring.
On paper the E92 isn't that quick compared to a modified scoob... But I've never taken much notice of paper power of figures, as a road car its about the whole experience..
