That is a decision you will not regret!! Brilliant choice.

My misus has a ctr ep3 05 plate we bought with 50k on the clock 2 years ago it now has 78,000. 28,000 absolutely faultless miles and every single one putting a smile on our faces.

I can not rave on about this car enough, I've had subarus, evo's and god knows what else, but I have to say this is def the best front wheel drive naturally aspirated car I have ever driven, the power is all useable none of this spinning up in the wet crap, you plant the thing and it just goes, handles absolutely superbly what ever corner you chuck it into. Also unless you come across something with loads more power then there's not a lot that will leave it standing especially round the twistys!

Cheers mate, yeah I'm made up with it so far, got a few plans for it as well!

Sti mayhew 25-09-2012 10:21 PM

Oh yes I don't blame you, we have done.

Charcoal anthracite powder coated wheels

Induction kit, sounds amazing on vtec

Tints all round

Hid's main and full beam

Scorpion cat back system

Just put on drilled and dimpled discs with mintex pads at a very good price off eBay.

there great cars mate friend of mine has one he loves it.

gtirobbie 26-09-2012 09:07 PM

Discovered this evening it's not wise to take it into vtec when it's wet on the roads! Span up at 60!

Nice cars and an itch I've wanted to scratch myself for a long time having had a couple of S2000's.

How does it compare against the cooper 'S' for power/fun/handling ?.

gtirobbie 27-09-2012 10:58 AM

I've not been able to push it yet but the mini being supercharged is more instant power, the civic feels more planted though.
I need to wait till it's dry to find out exactly what it can do.

Nice motor buddy, there is a turbo charged one in crawley thats ferkin quick:doubleup:

ScoobyStu 27-09-2012 02:25 PM

Nice mate. Never really took any notice of these until my first trip to Santa Pod a few years ago. That changed my view completely, especially the charged ones, sound amazing. Hope you enjoy it. :-)

gtirobbie 27-09-2012 03:41 PM

Thanks for your comments, a turbo'd or supercharged one must be nuts!
Can't decide whether to do the wheels black or anthracite grey?

Sti mayhew 27-09-2012 09:10 PM

Hi all, not posted for a while but been lurking on and off, never really went away! I had a silver pre facelift one of these about this time last year, have to say they are a fantastic car, very useable power and great handling. One thing I will say is when I changed tyres to the slightly wider fitment recommended by a lot of people I thought it ruined the handling a bit. Just my opinion but thought I'd throw it out there. I have a 2007 BMW 335i se now, awesome car.

No way going to chance ruining the handling, it's spot on now!

gtirobbie 29-09-2012 07:09 PM

I bet that 335i flys doesn't it!? I know the 330i are rapid

Whiteone 29-09-2012 07:41 PM

Certainly does go very well indeed! Nice thing about it is that the torque arrives nice and early in the revs like a diesel but stays strong right through the revs. Overtaking is a flex of the ankle in pretty much any gear. Downside is I have already had the dreaded waste gate rattle but all sorted under warranty with new waste gates and turbos, feels even more rapid now! Maybe placebo cos I was without it for a week or so?
