ASDA Charity day 11th August- attendance list

RAF BRUNTINGTHORPE

TICKET INFO

Okay ..... having just spoke to Chris B the tickets that will be given to you guys at the gate will allow you free entry for the day.

A donation of £5 minimum is requested to be paid to the WR1 stand once you are in the event.
Doesn't need to be paid the minute you arrive but at some time throughout the day,

OUT ON TRACK

You are welcome to take your own cars around for one lap or as many as you want but you will need a passenger that has paid £5.00 for the lap.

You can't stay out on track for multi laps. You can only do one lap at a time, then drive into the large pit area where many public will be lined up to jump in.
The public would have already paid a fiver.

Drive at your own pace as it's not a race.

You will also need a special ticket / pass to allow you to go on track driving your own car.
These passes can be shared between us as they must be evident when out on track. There will be plenty available.

RIDES AS A PASSENGER

If you would prefer to leave your car on the stand all day and jump in other cars as a passenger that is fine and no problem at all.

You will find the pits are extremely busy all day, and you can jump in any car of your choice (for a fiver).

ATTRACTIONS

There are many other attractions going on all day what you can participate in.

4x4 off road motors that are giving rides

Full size 40 foot Asda trucks you can drive and several other things.

There is normally something going on in the sky for a large chunk of the day from stunt displays - Spitfires to wing walkers.

MUNCH

All food & drink is non profitable so the prices are less than you would normally pay and it's not cheap 5hite.

KIDS

There are many activities for all ages of children. Asda do base this single day event on the whole family.

NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

As mentioned before this event is "invite only". It's not advertised to the public anywhere.
Last years event was based on the same issues and still had over 15,000 attend.
This year they are saying it will be many more.

HOTELS

There are many hotels are the area.

Here are a list of all hotels within the area.

http://www.laterooms.com/en/p1301/pv...120623104155:s

The hotel we stayed in last year (see thread above) were offering £ 29 off to people attending the Asda CHarity Day.

Guys if you fancy attending this please put your names on lis bellow.
As Clive has said this is a fantastic day out for the whole family .
There are over 80 from P1WOC going .

Ok guys and gals. I offered Clive to help him a bit with the ASDA day and he accepted. :) First of all I think we need to change this attendance list and replace usernames with your real names as he wants to leave the list at the gate on 11 August so that everyone can pick up their tickets there. In case not everybody on the previous list sees that I will pm these guys in due course. This is what Clive posted on the P1WOC:

Please list your REAL names here (not your user names. I will be giving a copy of this list to the guy on the gate).

Gates open at 8.00 am. Show starts at 9.00 am.

Greig 23-07-2012 07:50 PM

Is there going to be a convoy? And what time are people thinking of leaving?

thepieman 23-07-2012 08:59 PM

Sat nav says 3hrs30mins for me from here, roughly the same as my trips to RCM:cool:

If people are aiming to get there for 8am then I will need to leave around 4:30am, allows for a fuel stop on route too:nod: Normally leave at 5:30am for RCM days so no biggee:drive:

Not decided if I'll go or not yet though:doh:

Hello everyone.
Is there room for a newby and is anyone driving up early on the day?

Skullfudge 28-07-2012 04:11 PM

Copy & paste the above list Charlie with your real name on it.
Tickets will be given to you at the gate of the event.

Skullfudge 28-07-2012 04:13 PM

There are two types of pass / ticket.

If you want to be on The SES / P1 Woc stand would will need a stand pass and must be at show for 8.00 am.

Opens to public at 9.00 am. If you turn up anywhere near 9.00 am you will have to park with the public.

The stand has to be ready for the public at 9.00 am

Hi Charlie, yep will be going up early too, am hoping to link up with others on route if possible? I`m near to the Dartford Tunnel (if thats the route?) so just need to organise a time when others are passing or park up somewhere and wait.

Kerstin 30-07-2012 10:59 AM

Ok guys, as there will be one joint clubstand for SES and P1WOC I wrote all our names on one joint list as well. I post it on here for you to see that I haven't forgotten any of you lot (nr. 35 to 42).

@ KrissyB and Crowman: You two are no 14 and 31 on the list as you are on the WOC-list already. Otherwise you would have to turn up twice.

Hev (My Mrs) and her friend Karen will be sitting on two chairs a few Mts before the event entrance. If you pull up beside them and give them your name they will cross you off the list and give you the pass that you need to put in your window.

Drive up the the entrance and those of you with a EXHIBITOR VEHICLE PASS will be able to drive through without paying. You will need to aim at arriving at 8.00am.

Those of you that will not be on the stand need to try to arrive around 9.00 am. Hev will then give you a normal pass and you will need to pay £ 5.00 to the guy at the gate. Remember the queues for this event may be long so allow for that.

If anyone arrives late and the two weird looking women aren't anywhere to be seen phone Hev on 07793 257 848 and she will drive to the entrance

ScoobyStu 03-08-2012 06:51 PM

Paul Langridge and myself, Stuart Hollin, (no's 38&39) are traveling up together in either his or my car. Does this matter to the list? We are going up early on the day and will be on the stand hopefully.

It won't matter, Stuart. Just tell Hev or her friend Karen that they can cross off the other name when they give you the pass, so that they don't wait for people on the list to turn up in vain.

Any of you guys that want to take your own car around the track are welcome but you MUST have a drivers pass. I will be getting as many of these as I can from Chris Buckler (Chunk B) although there will not be heaps of these.

We may be appointed 3 - 5 passes that we shall need to share between us.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The two rules to abide by when taking your own car on track are

1. Drivers pass which I believe was a wrist band last year?

2. You MUST have a passenger with you.

You will be tugged by the event organisers if they see a driver only in a car.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As a club we will need to have a number of cars offering the public a lap, so don't be shy

It's not a race so just drive at a pace you feel in control of.

At the moment we don't have enough. I will be out on track, Steve M's mate in a GT3RS is up for it and BigTel has mentioned he may have a few laps, so we need some more ........ please

Copy and Paste this list if you fancy it.

The venue / track does hold several track day events throughout each year and to be honest it's the perfect venue for first timers.

It must rank as one of the safest venues with it's huge open spaces and very few dangers.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you want to have a bash it may pay to bare the following in mind.

1. Check your engine oil level.

2. Check tyre pressures.

3. Check coolant levels and make sure you have plenty of fuel.

4. Have a couple of sighting laps before taking the public around & get a mate to jump in with you.

5. If you are new to tracks DONT follow the race line of the guy in front of you. Chances are at this event you will be following incorrect race lines.

6. Use the long straight to overtake slower cars. It's 60 Mts wide and very safe.

7. Most important rule, use your mirrors often. If you see a car catching you or someone is on your ar5e a flick of your indicator will let the driver behind know you are aware of him and he will pass you seeing your indicator flashing.

30 minutes will be the max you can stay out and to be honest you will be better doing 15 - 20 minute outings.

Park back on the stand and then other drivers from our club can then go out.

Don't forget to copy & paste the above list if you interested. We will need more drivers/cars.

Cheers fellas

PS You will LOVE this day. It's proper fun.

Please list your REAL names here (not your user names. I will be giving a copy of this list to the guy on the gate).

Gates open at 8.00 am. Show starts at 9.00 am.

Map and entrance procedures: see posts 12 and 13 on original ASDA thread: http://www.southeastscoobies.co.uk/v...ead.php?t=8700 and post 53 on this thread.

For hotel bookings and directions: http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_R...e_England.html

Copy & Paste the whole post and add your names please (driver of the car).
