Insurance is a killer!

Ello folks, i've not been on here for aaaages, mainly due to not having a scooby anymore, however i'm having a look at the moment for a classic wagon (want something that i can sling my bike into the back of) but am getting some stupid insurance quotes which is the only bit thats holding me back. Has someone got a direct number for Gary at Keith Michaels that they could PM to me? Also, if anyone else knows of any companies giving half decent quotes, can i have a name please?

Cheers!

Have any of you noticed a massive hike in insurance prices for your scoobs? I've been getting quotes of well over a grand and thats just on a standard wagon!

Don't talk to me about insurance ;) £185.43 a Month

MIDLIFE 21-04-2011 09:21 PM

A-plan or sky insurance might be worth a punt

Scruff 21-04-2011 10:48 PM

Gary reckoned it would be around £650 which is more than i was paying on my WRX last year :( I'll give A-plan and Sky a go but if it doesn't go around the £500 mark i think i'll be seeking a different wagon... unfortunately.

Karl, mate it sucks to be you! But isn't it worth it :)

It worries me big time the cost of insurance. I wanna get a decent classic in the later part of the year but im thinking of insuring for weekend only use or limited mileage to keep the cost down, if that can be done? Or even if its worth it?

Ive used A plan with no worries and was fairly cheap at the time, wanted to use Keith Michael's a few years back but they wouldn't insure me as it was my first scooby and I hadn't owned it for a whole year  , plus id just stepped out of a 1.4L ford fiesta into a 2.0L turbo?

Insurance is a killer coz all the people making false injury claims. They are the idiots who are making us all suffer

Hope you manage to get a good quote & scoob soon

Mines on a limited mileage policy through Moley, so far stayed pretty level on price. It's only a very occasional use car so suits me fine

majorscooby 22-04-2011 05:06 PM
