Or my astra sri turbo beautiful car just wasted power...

belliott 31-12-2010 12:34 AM

Peugeot 306 D turbo s, great fun trying to get to grips with and surprisingly nippy for a diesel.

gtiteen 31-12-2010 01:06 AM

Volvo 850 T5 estate at 19 with a bit of work running pretty reasonable power, a tv and some naughty police lights!

Njz9046 31-12-2010 01:23 AM

vauxhall astraVAN 1.9CDTI sportive, a real shocker power wise, and no-one ever expects it from a van!

Anger 31-12-2010 08:18 AM

420bhp Saph Cossie 4x4.... Was only 19 and it was slightly quick at the time and upset most on the road

SpecB 31-12-2010 08:37 AM

180BHP Mark II Golf GTI *V With full Koni/Eibach suspension, Handled like a go Kart!

Chunk 31-12-2010 08:59 AM

My favorite vehicle i've owned is 100% without a doubt my old Mk3 Toyota Hilux

Loved everything about it

Scooby Si 31-12-2010 09:17 AM

(I'll find some of my old Mondeo (not that its that special! ;) ) when I get near a computer)

Guy B 31-12-2010 10:09 AM

Fiesta RS Turbo, it was just plain mental

Hongkongfooi 31-12-2010 10:29 AM

Hartge H35....basically an E30 M3 with a 350hp M5 engine in, modified further by some german accountant...amazing on track.

impreza27 31-12-2010 10:54 AM

mk3 seat ibiza cupra turbo was fun to have but the scoobies more better tho.

Chunk 31-12-2010 10:58 AM

Like it & very rare. One of my top fav's was a E30 M3 handling was fantastic but down on power at 190bhp so would of loved a 350bhp M5 engine in there. :drive:

scooby999 31-12-2010 12:40 PM

Hillman avenger 1.3 ,red ,black vinyl roof, welded up rear diff and bald tyres.......every bend was sideways....happy days

Anger 31-12-2010 12:40 PM

oh i just remembered my clio williams (16v but williams engine) with zzr kawazaki 1100 carbs, wild cams putting out just over 200bhp, full Radbourne racing coilovers and ust to hop when taking corners at to much speed... i'll dig some pics out

3 inch lift, straight through exhaust, K&N filter, too many watts of light.... all on a 2.4D

Wanted to V8 it, but bought the scoob instead

asperformance 31-12-2010 03:28 PM

probs my pukka Nova 1.3SPORT.............homologation special limited to around 500 cars which was then tuned to around 120bhp and fitted with c/r gearbox (eventually became a rally car & caged, etc.)

would easily keep up with 16v golfs, etc. and seriously pi%% off most Scooby owners down the local lanes

never had any lag in mine, it lived near and over the redline and somehow never went bang. also a few little tweaks certainly helped even though it did smoke a bit more.

AndyWRX 01-01-2011 05:03 PM

Apart from the scoob it would have to be my fd rx7, only thing was it was too tempremental but when it did work it was wicked :-)

I used to have a Nova Sport, not many of those around.

After the Impreza's this would be my favourite....

Astra Mk3 GSI with Calibra Turbo engine and 6 speed gearbox, tuned to just over 300bhp.

(front tyres would last 2 months if lucky, driveshafts even less!!!)

Stupidly quick though!!!

I think Chunk had to replace his pants a few times after he drove it!!!

Always interesting these type of threads. As it always seems to throw up some lesser powered nimble smaller cars. And this comes from people who have chased power and now running some big spec powered cars.

I have had a few motors :D but short list has to be 306gti6, RS1600I, 2.5 Classic Scoob, E46 M3, modded audi S4, Evo5, and my current favourite and still have it along with the scoob which is a S2000.

ralliart didz 01-01-2011 08:18 PM

my mk1 2.0l works escort, painted matte black with 10" deep steel wheels.my best motor of all time was my CHEVY VAN "THE TERMINATOR" built in holland and coverd in painted art work of the terminator.was in magazine "chrome and flames" years ago.i had the engine rebuilt with 390 bhp and handcontrols lol,did 8 to the gallon

Anger 01-01-2011 08:33 PM

Only reason i went for the Clio after the 420bhp Cossie was because the Cossie was stolen and the Clio was the only decent car i could insure Rob

MIDLIFE 01-01-2011 09:51 PM

Agree with robevo5 had a 306gti6 and a 1.9 gti loved them both, had use of a e reg rs turbo escort and audi quattro, a 16v gte astra and a 4x4 gsi cav which stuck like sh1te to a blanket on the bends. Happy days:oldman:

I didnt know u were a cossie owner!!

Mine was my Audi TT, good fun little car and nippy enough for me at the time :)

RobEvo5 04-01-2011 04:38 PM

Forgot about the TT, Apart from the girls image - Great car, mine was remapped to 270bhp and liked it allot. Instant spool, build quality and interior and exterior ahead of its time. Bullet proof but not a car I would want to push to the limits and feel comfortable with.

Loved My Cosworth Saphs as well, and will always have a place in my heart, and still have utmost respect for the Ford boys that have stuck with it. But I think in reality they were just great cars at the time - I think If I had another one now I would think its horrid, unreliable, expensive, handled like poo, rattly and rusty bag of nails...

Another car I loved was the Mk1 MR2 - the Wedge shape rust bucket one :D It was an Elise of its day. Handling was sublime, and ubber cheap to insure on classic insurance.

And of course SCOOBS of any era, shape! :D:D:D:D

Kirstiestar 04-01-2011 05:10 PM

Yes i do love my saphs aswell and like you say if it wasnt for the constant maintainence and upkeep of them i think i would of got one :)

Yes the TT was a fab little car, think mine was only running the standard 220bhp and although i regret selling it i did get bored of it easily!

Has a BMW 330 convertible on 19" Haamans that i loved also, was an auto though and not very quick but nice to cruise about in till someone wrote it off for me! Hand on heart though my Scoob is the best car ive ever owned, its coped with everything ive chucked at it and never fails to scare me flat out!! Lol! Was the best thing i ever bought/built etc!

have been fortunate to have owned quite a few when i first was self-employed as we used to race/rally a lot of Nova's (still do to a point) ,about a dozen from memory - got to a point of chasing them all over the country, some where just rotten for parts and others to sell-on

Mine was definately one of the rotten ones!!! (good talking to you earlier by they way, and cheers for helping me out)

Kei Man 04-01-2011 07:42 PM

Only 2 of my previous were special to me.
1964 1098cc MG Midget drove that with the hood of all year round because i lost one of the supports for it.

other one I can't remember the year was a 1430cc road legal full race mini with spaceframe rear end, may have been 1972.

Both sucumbed to motorsport accidents, unlike my RS500 cosworth that I got rid of because of the constant retweaks needed. That was replaced by a sensible family car.

It was a fantastic car, fun to drive. First performance car i drove.

I could change the drive shafts on it with my eyes closed.

How many time were they changed?

It had the Turbo engine for 2 years, and normally once a month a cv joint or driveshaft went.... so a fair few!!!

tbtstt 06-01-2011 04:45 PM

I've had a very short car history thus far, so I haven't really got anything to add to the thread. Interesting to see what people are picking out as faves though!

You and me both mate, scoobs the first decent car i've had!

rossmarts 07-01-2011 12:19 PM

Mine was a Civic Type R (EP3). It was such a great daily drive and had the perfect amount of power for the chassis. Was mental on track, especially with a bit of lift-off oversteer here and there. I made a couple of small changes to engine breathing, added a Nur-Spec exhaust and some Tein suspension as well as some bracing here and there which all had a positive effect. I then chopped it in for an S2000, which proved to be a bit of a mistake.
