Cabin (pollen) filter
Been getting some condensation on the windscreen during this cold spell and from searching the worldwide web it would appear it could be down to the cabin filter requiring changing:nod:
Have now found that these are suggested for changing every year or 7500 miles:angst: bet mines never been done!!! hate to think whats in there!! Anyone doen theres and did you notice any improvements? Ordered my replacements today, so will be changing as soon as possible... hope it stops the misting up:ok: |
did mine recently, old one was full of rubbish, grit, leaves and dirt. Made a real difference :ok:
|
where would these be on the car and how easy are they to change?.I have been having the same problem, and this sounds easier to do than fitting a windscreen wiper on the inside. Also and more to the point would a classic wagon have one?????????????

Usually behind the glove box.

Don't know if this will help, believe you can buy the kit if yours doesn't have one....
Cabin filter kit Mine is a little different as mines got a tabbed cover already in place, just open up take out old one and replace. Hardest part for me is removing the glovebox..... at least 12 years of ****e in there, i bet:angst: |
ok cheers ,will have a look tomorrow to see if i have one
|
on the newage scoobs its a case of removing the glove box, then moving a bracket to get easier access. Only a couple of screws though, all comes out easily enough.
Just don't unscrew the glove box then try to yank it out, its got the light attached by two wires on the back :) |
just had a look and i have the hole but someone must have taken it out at some point,so going to order one today.Might stop the inside of the windscreen needing a wipe down every morning.
Does anybody know how the cabin filter will reduce the amount of water inside the car???? |

Cheers Dave |
spoke to a few places today and most places dont seem to have even heard of them.spoke to subaru and they said if its got a hole then one should fit!!!!
Also noticed on mine that I didnt need to take out the glove box as the panelcan be got at quite easily(only found this out after i had removed the glovebox) |
As far as I am aware the filter itself is a dealer fit option??
So theres probably loads that don't have them fitted. Dave, the Legacy has one and thats import so I would put money on the import impreza having one, or space for one. Wish you could get to the one in the Legacy without having to take all the glove box gubbins out..... |
mines an import
|
Might have to have a look at mine, got the same problem aswell, hate using a cloth as it leaves lots of marks
|
If you have aircon, running that for a few minutes before switch off also helps:nod:
