new style v5c.... dvla had a load stolen???

Hi all
had my new v5c come through for the scoob when i opened it i freaked cos its normally blue.. through something was wrong
but no.. they are changing the v5 (thanks for letting everyone know)
http://buyerbeware.direct.gov.uk/v5c/index.html
when looking at the .. hover the mag glass over the top corner of the v5 it is them admiting shed loads of v5's have been stolen (prob the reason for the change of style).. surely if that many have been stolen it should have been in the papers of something

ooh err.

cheers for the heads up, i'm awaiting the V5 for the diesel barge i've just bought. so if a V5 isn't proof of ownership, what is? a receipt from a garage? what happens in a private sale if no receipt is given?

Or are they just implying that the piece of paper isn't proof of ownership because people are just forging them?

yeah i think its just them covering their asses..

tat way they can never be at fault...
imagine my shock when i opened that had had that plaster accross the top..

everything is still the same as before..

but there is no way of say who legally owns the car just who its registered too..
