My 2005 sti
Thought I'd post the progress I have made since I bought my car in March 2008 with 22k on the clock...
Bought with the PPP, A vortex catted exhaust, K&N intake and a supposed remap as this http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...i/IMG_0014.jpg I then changed the wheels to prodrive pff7's off ebay and added prodrive springs again off ebay and a front spoiler to this http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...i/P1170010.jpg Then the modding bug took over and I whisked it off to James Greenwood for a new aps sr40 turbo, decatted 3'' milltek, ported headers, anti lift kit, remap, front and rear arbs 22/24mm, rear strut brace http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...i/P4280017.jpg http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...i/P1010008.jpg then produced http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...i/P1010011.jpg then a home brew fire ext fitted http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...i/P1010001.jpg few bits from the lovely Roger Clark shop http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...i/P1010026.jpg Japbash 2009 http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...P1010001-1.jpg Performance friction brakes fitted prior to ring trip 2010 http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...ooi/own007.jpg a few bits and pieces added end of 2009...carbon alternator cover and cool slam panel for rad http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...P1010032-1.jpg pro sport gauges fitted around this time as well http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...i/P1010027.jpg The car has stayed looking the same but this March I added gt headers, 650 inj's and new fuel pump...with a road remap with JGM is now 405bhp and 380lb torque http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...i/P1010043.jpg and most recently Granby's old aps 725 fmic and intake fitted as seen on another thread http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...i/P1010019.jpg http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...i/P1010023.jpg awaiting the remap in a couple of weeks and got to trim the bumper a tad as well so hoping for arounf 410-415 hp...happy for now if it gets this... although have been in contact with engine tuner in plymouth recently so watch this space next year!;-) Other plans for next years ring trip will be tein or bc coilovers (where does it ever end!?) |

Cars looking great mate :10: those PF discs look so shiny too :D |
Very nice indeed.:10:
Roll on the ring next year. Hey i might even get to drive:whistle: |
Lovely!! Just needs a moustache on the front!
:SMBLU: |
Cracking job Tim :10:
When you off to SRR? I am pencilled in for the 24th, thats if Dave gets back onto the scooby in time? |
Such a nice car tim, I've had the pleasure of being either in front of it or behind it over quite a few miles now on various trips, and as I said to you at Goodwood, it is one of the nicest Blob STi's i've seen. Some really nice mods too, and I completely blame you when I talk to my wife about spending more on my car!! Lets hope you never get to meet her :sos:
|
Quote:
24th as well Steve...simon has suggested 3pm for me but if you are on the rollers then I will convoy up if you want...let me know. |
Quote:
|
Looking Good Tim, did you put the pulley's on yourself ?
Thinking of getting some for mine and can't decide whether to do it myself or get them done in conjunction with a cam belt. |
Quote:
I can only do the basics Scott so got a friend to do them as part of a Cambelt service. At some point in my life I might do a mechanics course when i get 5 mins |
Quote:
I'd be up for that if you ever look into it.:ok: |
Cars a credit to you mate :)
What you need is a MD321 T ;) |
Quote:
what I need is a 2.1 with a gt30! |
2.1 GT35R it is then
|
Those GT headers are lush!! Bloody nice car. Starting my engine mods next year. Letting the wallet cool down first. :-P

http://bbs.scoobynet.com/770002-late...-turbo-11.html The 206 gets quite good reviews, but requires a bespoke downpipe (additional £185) They are also bringing out a smaller version (400BHP) with stock fitting |
I did hear about that turbo... Yep very nice.
|
I don't think it's twin scroll as it doesn't require any up-pipe mods, but it is supposed to spool well and be very responsive.
|
let you know what billet 30 does next month or more to the point you can have ago if you like tim as it'll only be getting mapped on the day before the training day lol
|
Theres alot of good turbos about now without the expense of going twisted Tim :ok:
|
Very nice Tim a good looking Sti with some quality parts. :ok:
|
thanks for the nice comments peeps:five:
|
about time the front mount was done mate now go to 500 bhp
|
A lovely looking scoob. Swap??!
|
Really liking your car mate- would love to get a set of prodrive wheels for mine but they are so expensive lol and second hand sets are so rare these days.
|
Quote:
I might be able to tempt you with mine if my plan comes to fruition |
Quote:
I got a set today :) |
Quote:
|
Tell me about the Prodrives, I got mine from Revolution when they had all the old stock going 'cheap' trashed the face of one getting the car on the trailer so am on the hunt for a good second hand one in Bright Flitter as I can't find anybody to refurbish the one and match the paint!
|
Quote:
Mate how did that happen??:kicknuts: There must be a firm that can refurb the rim for you. Try: http://www.lepsons.com/ Personally I wouldnt recommend spit & polish of Tonbridge. I have got a spare rim with rubber but obviously its the WR1 pewter your can borrow. |
Quote:
Plans to change your wheels then mate? |
Quote:
yes steve, out with the gold like you! |
gunmetal on blue looks great doesn't it ;)
|
Give lifestyele a call Nick, they have one in the window still.

Looking Goooooooooooooood:five:
|
thats better
|
forgot to add photo of intake in wing behind cover...massive filter!
http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...i/P1010022.jpg I have removed part of the opening to the fog cover to allow a bit more air in but hopefully no water will get in. Srr tomorrow! |
My internets been down last 12 hours so a delay in posting up yesterday rr result.
404.4 which I was a little disappointed by but Simon thinks that the figures on the road a few months back possibly weren't as good back then as now. Either way when it comes on boost now it goes better which is what I wanted. At least i can give it some beans now! Limiting factor is my turbo....now thinking of maybe MD321T or just leave it and wait for the s206 and 2.1 next year. I'll post a graph up when i get a chance. There were some nice classics there as well...one guy from leicester in a track prepped RA hit 415/415 with a KKK turbo off a 911! Brilliant. |
I'll be selling my T soonish

Be interesting to see what mine makes when it's finally finished - but will still be on pinks for now as well as the SR40 - I think I may get to 400 ish but with more torque and faster spool.
|
Quote:
Main thing is how the car feels, and if it feels better/quicker, then job done. It certainly seemed quick enough as it was! Out of interest, what was the torque figure tim?. |
A bit down steve at 350...less than yours! But it does feel quicker now and makes lots of new noises when changing gear...I like it. I'll bring my graph down on staurday for you to look at.
Its got the new wheels fitted as well now....sweeet! |

Lovely car with great power.
Would love my front mount to look like that |
Quote:
Fantastic, look forward to seeing those. |
New Wheels for those that didn't get to see them at Japbash yesterday!
http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...i/IMG_5306.jpg actually darker in truth to this but you get the idea! http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...i/IMG_5304.jpg |
Looking good mate :)
|
Looks great, you've made me want to up my power now though. Your turbo looks niiiiiiiiiice!
|
really must stay off scoobynet!
Had these fitted after buying them off a nice chap called iain...and he fitted them for free! Bargain price as well! http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...ooi/brakes.jpg http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...oi/P110011.jpg and also off the same guy although he had never fitted them were these ast coilovers. these have been what I have been after for ages and another bargain price....only done 1500 miles! can't wait to get these bad boys fitted! http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p...oi/P101002.jpg |
coilovers as well as brakes, blimey, gonna be good at the ring next year!
|
Cool, AST coilovers have gotta be one of the best sets.
They are also fully rebuildable if required (much like a Bilstein) |
very nice mate
:yeah: |
Excellent mate
|
Just spotted this thread, lovely motor - that front mount looks extra tidy as well! :10:
|
Ast's fitted last week by Brent....still playing with the nice gold nobs on top of the struts for comfort but is an improvement so far.
http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p.../P11010017.jpg http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p.../P11010018.jpg looking forward to winding them up a bit for track work as well. only dropped about 10-15mm as I have to drive over speed humps. http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p.../P11010014.jpg got some new pagid black brake pads on the way as the yellows that came with the brakes are really:-o, the compound has broken away in some places so this is urgent! and got a bit of carbon to fit at some point too8-) |
Very tidy looking! :10:
Your ride height on the AST's looks very similar to mine. I've got mine set at 6 notches (from soft) on the front and 4 on the rear. That was the setting recommended to me from Carl at AST and, after playing round, I found that was pretty good for day-to-day use. Never tracked mine though, so I guess you'd need to wind that number up when on track! |
Looking good tim. The springs/brakes will be going on mine next week hopefully. Just waiting for the pads and lines to arrive. So is yours sitting lower than when on the prodrive springs?
|
Quote:
|
looking cool matey
|
AST's looking verrrrrry nice Tim!
|
had this fitted yesterday as it was meant to sorted before xmas but with the snow.......
was unsure whether to get part of it painted but will stay as is for now and will add some more carbon when funds allow http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p.../P10100119.jpg http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/p.../P10101020.jpg |
Love carbon on WR blue :)
|
Quote:
|
Haha true :D
|
i'd personally have the ends colour coded, leaving the centre in carbon.
how have you mounted it, just with tiger seal or equivalent? looks good tho! :ok: |
Quote:
Looks ace though, Ive allways wanted one of those. |
Quote:
But i don't think i'd be brave enough to bolt it on! |
Mines bolted... but its an OEM part :)
|
It's bonded at a body shop, they assure me it will stay on. :angst:
|
Looks good.:10:
|
Im guessing so did the bodyshop that put on Marks on Surrey mate... No following you on the Autobahn at over 140mph ;)
|

|
Looking very nice mate
|
If you can attach a carbon fibre panel between the two flat surfaces of the spoilers, you will nearly have a wagon..............
:SMBLU: |
Quote:
Still looking good though, yours is definately my fave of all the local WR blue newages! :10: |
Love it tim, I too would get the ends painted at some point. :10:
|
Your car is really looking the dogs mate!
You are doing some good work with it mate, looking forward to seeing that on the German roads :drive: |
thanks chaps....cant wait for germany!
|
Its taking to long to come around :)
|
Looks good but YEP...your running out of things to do to it........that will only lead to that big spend at API.

Missing my car already and I only dropped it off yesterday at TFS in surrey
to save you asking its having the following... 2.1 upgrade (arp head studs, mahle pistons, h beam rods etc) Cosworth baffle plate cosworth gaskets cosworth timing belt Rcm oil pump new water pump Ap Clutch Catch can Oil cooler Sc50 billet turbo Syvecs by Simon parallel fuel rails/fpr 800cc inj's Group N engine/gearbox mounts then its at least 500 running in miles and then the rollers:???: |
I bet you can't wait now mate.
A good running in trip is down to the Services just outside dover (Shell) where we meet up for the Ferry, on the M20 and then coming home on the A Roads via Hastings. It rack the miles up and gives you loads of different scenarios, gear changes and rev ranges. :ok: |
Nice spec :ok: give that front mount a good working :-D
|
Quote:
|
It was the last bit of the running in process for me, I had 400+ miles on the clock before setting out.
I did it at night too, with an empty motorway so you could speed up, slow down, start to put a teeny bit of boost through it and raise the rev range just a smidge. By that, I mean going up to 5000 3 or 4 times instead of holding it at 4000 all the way. There are so many theories on what you should or shouldn't do. Some say that keeping it too low glazes the bores. Some say you should get a bit of boost through it. I will never forget getting mine up to SRR for Simon to start the process, after pretty much nursing it through the run in. He then gets it on the rollers and canes the back out of it  And just looks over with a knowing grin and says "don't worry..... it'll be fine" |
I must admit its the running in I fear most...as its on my back if it breaks!
