total impreza
Does anybody on here get this mag ?if so whats it like ...is it worth getting?
I cant seem to be able to buy one copy only 6 months or a year. Or are there any other mags worth buying(other than razzle and mayfair):cath: |
I get it delivered and love it (they are by- monthly now). Then again I buy several car mags a month.
Evo is the best and I have all copies from day one. Redline is better these days and not so Max power:doh: I also subscribe to Jap performance and banzai. |
redline and banzai are the top magazines in my collection nowadays. my subscription finished a couple of months ago to total impreza and lets just say if mickey mouse made magazines then he hard at work there. an issue never goes by without major cockups, take the isse with tfs racings drag car in, they couldn't even get stews specification right, they have also said that the standard fuel pump is better than a walbro after a scoobyclinic test. SC were not very happy about that as TI totally forgot the main bit was that the standard pump was off a hatch sti and that they would always uprate the earlier cars pumps. theres many more but it would make this a very long post. anyway they might get better but they promised that four months ago on scoobynet and it hasn't.

When the magazine first came out, it had a lot of cars that we could all compare to our own. After a few months it started only showing big power big money cars. I lost all interest. When my subscription ended, i didn't bother renewing.

Its just i would have liked to get a dedicated subaru mag,as i come from the vw beetle background, where it was frowned upon even to look at anything that isnt air-cooled:nono:, i really cant be bothered to be reading about non scooby cars(maybe i need to lighten up on the loyality thing) to tell the truth i even struggle to read the threads on non subura cars:cuckoo: ............ i know this is strange but 20 years of vws can take their toll (at least i stuck with a flat four)
Bloody hell feel like i am at a AA meeting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:getmecoat: |
Only ever bought one and unlikely to do so again.
For technical information, model-specific info, tuning advice, unbiased pros and cons of different mods and which supplier/garage to use then I have found the forums the best place to get this information rather than any paper publication. The downside is having to make the time separating the bullsh*t from the useful information on some of the national forums (no names :norty:). This is why well run regional forums such as this have flourished because as well as getting information from the forum, you can also meet up with members to see their cars, often get a passenger ride to get first hand experience of whether you like an exhaust or suspension option for example and get other ideas for what to spend your hard earned on. You can also usually find answers to specific issues/problems as someone is likely to have experienced a similar problem with their car – and if not then someone can usually can give you pointers as to where to look or who to ask. To provide a balanced view, as the above sounds way too complementary to the SES team :asskiss:, there are plenty of nutters on here (and that’s just the Admin team :cuckoo:)….. |

I too have EVO from day one, and Performance Car before that, and Hot Car before that (back to 1970). Agree about Redline. I also subscribe to Jap Perf, and find technical info on Scoobs better in there than all the gaffs in Total Impreza - not written by people who know the marque, obviously. :SMBLU: |
