Look at this RS2000
I am on the lookout for a classic ford, namely a Mk2 cortina 1600e. Whilst looking around, I stumbled across this. Its loads of money (no I'm not looking at stuff anywhere near this price), but god its good!. I had one of these in 1987 in the reverse colours and remember selling it for £1500 :fool:

that is gorgeous. funnily enough i saw a black escort with wide arches in sainsburys car park in godalming today, i couldn't stop staring at it. if i ever win the lottery on of these is second on my list of things to buy.

Wow!!
I had a white Mk2 RS2000, with nose cone, and lots of Peter Lloyd Rally parts. Died with the bonnet flipped open at 60 on the Medway Bridge though..:sadno: |
How nice is that

they were the days when your engine bay was painted correctly i had a soft spot for the rs2000 but never got one . i ended up with a 6ltr mach1 1971 mustang and boy what a beast
|
Those were the days when you could actually see your engine bay

Absoloutely. I didnt mind messing around under the bonnet when I had the RS etc..., It started getting more difficult with the XR3i. And now, well, forget it. Although its amazing to think that 120bhp XR3i seemed lightning quick back then. I drove a mint Orion 1.6i Ghia recently (of which I had 5!), and I couldn't believe how slow it felt, yet when I was tearing up the streets at 20 odd years old , it felt quick. |
It's unreal isn't it. You soon forget just how quick the scooby is, unless you have not been driving it for a while. You soon get used to the power.
Unless you are Simon (JGM) |
Yeah, you must find that when you get out of the M3 into the scoob :lol:

You can't believe how savage the scooby feels after being in the M3 for any amount of time. It's probably just the fact the M3 is more "refined" in it's power delivery, but the scoob makes me buzz every time I blat it. **** knows what it must be like for the 500+ crowd  |
I cant image what 500+ feels like. My next aim is 400 which shouldn't be too difficult with a few add ons and another JGM map. Even now tho, it still surprises me when its given some beans.

When I watched Clive go past me at Brands like I was going backwards, I could only imagine. :tissue:
|
That RS looks very nice. I had a blue on white for 9 years from 1975. Always like to see a good example :)
|
looks very nice mate, i swear its been up for sale before though or one very similar, its nice to see some of the old classics are still around in great condition
|
Yummy!!
:SMBLU: |
Nice to see some love for classic Fords on a Subaru forum! That is one tidy looking RS2000, I prefer the Mk.II Escort, but I wouldn't say no to a Mk.I that looked like that...
|
Now that is nice, looks like something Gene Hunt should drive :D
