installing engine
Is it safe to use straps round the inlet manifold when lifting a impreza engine when putting it in the car
I personelly wouldn't, i am sure there are fuel lines that run underneath the inlet... When i took mine out i ran the straps round the whole engine... As i do not have the anker points..
Yes its fine, just make sure you dont trap any thing under the manifold
yes thats how i did mine but as mentioned be carefull not to pinch anything with the strap(s).

Thanks , got it in but went to put the lateral induction pipe under the manifold that fits my front entry turbo. After i took the reservior of the power stearing pump, the pipe that feeds oil from or to the pump is in the way . Need some advice on what i need to make room

I bought some inlet manafold spacers for the same problem, they also stop heat sock from the block to the inlet manafold.

Got the carl davey spacers ,as i said ive taken the reservoir of the power pump but the induction pipe is hitting the power steering pipe that fits in the side of the pump. Would taske a pic but the cars in my garage. Have searched the net but cant find any info. Wonder how easy it would be to move the whole pump or if there was a newer or smaller pump that i could fit? Think the problem might be the pipework?

Thanks Tone, the pipe that is in the way is the one that enters the pump on the left hand side that is fixed on the manifold. Do i need a different pump and pipework from the steering rack?
later pumps need diffrent pipework an for later power steering pipe i think you need a diffent rack, you more than welcome to try my pipes in your rack.
Thanks again, been trying to find some info by looking at some pics but cant seem to find any.I will try the induction pipe again this afternoon to see if i can fit it with the pipework.
