Big favour

Is there anyone in the Burgess Hill area that has a spare set of alloys with tyres on and a jack that can help me on saturday. my scoob is juddering alot at the front and want to find out if its a dodgey alloy of if my allignment needs sorting out, i thought if i could boz another set of alloys and go for a quick spin then if the car still judders then i know its not the alloys.

Subaru gatwick have quoted me just under 90 quid to have the allignment done so i dont want to pay that only to find its a dicky alloy.

So if anyone in my area is free for half hour on saturday and has a spare set then please could you let me know.

Many thanks

Dave

Re: Big favour

am now just looking for someone with a jack and a house brick, i know that sounds odd but have been shown a way of checking if my tyre or alloy is out of shape.

cheers

Re: Big favour

Best to get the alloys balanced first Dave, that will tell you if you have an alloy problem.
I could always put them on the balancer for you.
When you getting the judder? all the time....when braking?

haha i know im a thick twat but not got to that stupidity level yet rich. all 4 alloys were balanced last week, juddering is mainly at higher speeds and when going round corners feels as if its going to over steer and have to correct.

Was told if i jack the car up on the side i think is the problem and place a brick up againstthe wheel and slowly turn it, if the brick gets pushed away then theres a problem, also do it with the brick up against the alloy.

If it was an alloy or tyre problem you have Dave it should of shown up when you had them balanced, unless they just stuck sh1t loads of weights on to compensate for a problem.

Can't see the alignment giving you judder problems Dave, give us a call and pop it in first before spending £90
