Retro Ford Fans....would you Rally This

I certainly wouldn't......needs to be in a display cabinet not thrown down a muddy forest stage.

Stunning.
What a fantastic car, i would put it in my front room.:yeah:

AndyWRX 14-01-2010 10:01 PM

that looks stunning, id have it as a daily driver but never rally it

Steve_PPP 14-01-2010 10:09 PM

whilst i agree scott - that one looks immaculate - the sound of a mk2 in the forests on a cold morning is just awesome.

they'll be a few on Sunseeker

Crowman 14-01-2010 10:58 PM

Scott
This must make you rather moist:whistle:
If only we kept our old ones!

How about this has done 45 miles a year

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1175944.htm

Scott.T 14-01-2010 11:02 PM

I did see that and there's one on there for £19,995

A little over priced.
For £7K-£10K, I would rather spend that sort of money on a concourse one with a bit of bling and the underside fully prepared, rather then a so called original untouched one.

Crowman 14-01-2010 11:08 PM

Oh my god thats silly money.
I sold mine in 1992 when i got my cossie, It had 27k miles and was mint 2 owner.:yeah:

J.Lander 14-01-2010 11:52 PM

I had a T plated RS2000 lovely car, until a skip lorry reversed into it:angst::cry:

I have only been out of Classic Fords for a year now still miss the them. But do not think i could go back now hard work to keep on one top trim if used as a daily driver.Yes i would have to try it at least once down a muddy track it's what it's been built for

Chunk 15-01-2010 01:01 PM

Love the old fords.

I can get those car storage pods cheap through my Merc club

Greig 15-01-2010 03:07 PM

What a fantastic car! Are they still the 13" wheels on it? Far too much room in the wheel arch for my liking. Just about to search for a mark 1 gt cortina.

I'd rally anything given a chance. I had a taste on a course last year in a manta, focus and subaru, it was thoroughly fantastic. feeling the difference between each car and then fully appreciating the benefits of left foot braking, quality.

I had a 72 plate Mk1 that got put through a brick wall about 2 weeks after i sold it and a 72 plate mexico which met a grizzly end when it conjoined with a peugeot a couple of years ago, waaaaaah!

That is niiiiice, i'm pining for another mk1 at the moment but would quite happily settle for a mk2.
