scooby stuck

Trying to get back home, i got the scooby stuck on a small hill a neighbour told me only 1 front wheel was turning, but both the rears where.Surely both front wheels should be trying to pull me up the hill ?

That ain't good mate. Is it a really steep hill and Icy?

Theres only so far you can get.

As you have differential on the front as well as the back, if you have one wheel on ice and the other isnt, the wheel on ice will spin and you will lose drive on that axle.
Unless you have the facility to lock your dif.

I could be wrong, I have no doubt someone will corect me if I am.

Correct Ian :)

If you had DCCD centre diff it may have helped divide the power front to rear, but the wheels will still spin side to side.

With my WR1, that has the DCCD I can lock the rear dif.

Think you need to read the spec of your car !

You can lock the centre diff with the DCCD. The rear could be a plated diff (LSD) so should limit the slip between wheels :)

Is the Auto mode for this taken from the Legacy VDC by any chance? It sends the power all over the place if you give it some beans in the snow:doubleup:

When the old fella (sorry padre) rescued me the other day from a very steep iced up road in town (king edward ave) i believe this fact was proven as there was a noticable difference between the auto function and lock on the dash? I believe wasnt it standard on all stis 05>?
