General health check, where?

Hi all,

I am wondering whether there is anyone or anywhere local to me that could perform a general health check on the Leggy. I'm sure a few things are amiss but I ain't great in the mechanical department.

For instance, I'm never really sure of what's gonna happen with the secondary turbo and get some funny clicky, whirring noises from either the turbo or the instrument cluster intermitantly  Primary turbo seems to kick in when it's supposed to :-D Not having any boost gauges [yet] I can't tell what's going on with them though!

Also, only recently, I've noticed a loudish clack noise when I reverse, just when gear engages it seems?

Anyways, I could take it to Joe Bloggs garage but as we all know, Joe doesn't normally appreciate the finer points of these motors

Thanks for reading guys n' gals :-)

Stuart at East Sussex Mobile:

01323 811357
07721 412185

Stuart knows his legacys, Recently checked mine over with full service, can't fault them.

Stuart or John will be more than capable but I expect Stuart would be more interested because he likes his GT's

Go see Jaffa on here or Vince at RDS both in Hastings area.

Another vote for Stuart/John - they know their Leggys backwards.

You have PM:nod:

Jaffa, RDS, Rivett Auto, East Sussex Mobile all come highly recommended from lots of members, details can be found in the relevant section on the forum.

Would say Stuart is the choice for a Legacy, he really does know them as Keith says, backwards.

Obviously you will get a good service from any of the others mentioned, Jaffa's your man for MOT

Stuarts coming to collect the car tomorrow AM. I've asked for the following work to be carried out;
  • Cambelt
  • Waterpump
  • Tensioner
  • coolant (obviously)
  • Oil and filter
  • Gearbox oil renewal
  • Front ARB clamps
  • Rocker cover gaskets (both sides)
  • Spark plugs
  • Replacement of rear diff mounts

John's quoted me circa £900 for all of that including parts, labour and VAT....that sound about right?

Rear diff mounts ain't getting done tomorrow and I may well hold off on 'em for a while as they aren't a major concern :)
