Sti ic ?

Whats the main diffrence between a WRX and a STI one, just size and volume?

And whats with the price of them? Its almost more cost effective to go Fmic.

The flow is alot better on the STi TMIC, there is a test somewhere between all of them. I willtry and locate it.

The price varies from £150 - £300 depending on condition.
I paid £250 for mine about 3+ years ago for my Classic from Jap Performance.

FMIC have come down alot in price, they used to be over £1000.
Some are very poor quality and the pipes very thin.
Hybrid are about the best cheap variant, Autobhan are OK Ish but think they may let a few dodge ones through their quality control.

All depends how much you are willing to cut your car about.

although it doesn't actually compare the V7 Intercooler against the STi one.
Pretty useless for you then, although does give an indication of performance of the V7 WRX Unit.

Thanks for that. Im now almost 99% positive that my issues are down to heat soak. Past few days, with the very cold temp. The car has been boosting up no problems.

Start to see issues/splutters after sitting in traffic and the temp is more than 11 ish.

Off boost and very light boost, its runs perfect, so I,m thinking may not be MAF or Lamda?

I could be clutching at straws here, still dont really know enough about the turbo set up yet. The only other car I had with a Turbo was a mint S1 RST, but some git nicked it before I got the modding bug.

Won't be heat soak...heat soak would/may induce detonation if you nail it after sitting in traffic.
It won't cause the car to splutter etc... whilst stationary.

Coil pack's could be failing, do you get a check light as the 2001-2002 only require a couple of missfires to throw the missfire error code.

Off boost and light throttle won't use the MAF to control fuelling. So could still be MAF.
At light throttle/cruise/idle the lambda sensor is used.

A common sympton of failing MAF is poor on boost performance/feel and splutter when you come to a halt and the car returns to idle.
