Key Info

Hi, Just had my ECU changed that came with a chip, which I put in my key, therfore I have got one fully working key. Spoke to Dave at Gatwick Subaru about coding the second key. He check his recordsand said it would be no problem. Went their today unfortunately Dave wastn't there and after waiting a while was told they couldn't programme key. When I enquired why I was told I would have to get the person who supplied the ECU to send a second chip for the spare key. I said that's not the information I got from Dave who said it could be done. The guy then went off and came back and said the key was "broken" and I would have to order a replacement key at the cost of £138. Not desperately impressed. Got the impression they didn't have a clue what they were doing. Does anyone know anybody who does know what they are talking about on the subject of keys. :cuckoo:
Cheers.

Would of thought it was just a case of them supplying a blank (unprogrammed) chip then programming it to the car, or is the chip part of the key?

Gatwick + No Dave = Rubbish Service.

Sorry to say it, but they are nothing without Dave there.
