Hongkongfooi 27-01-2017 08:59 PM

yep thats pretty bad in a week

Banstead Stig 27-01-2017 09:08 PM

I had a day trip to Lincoln on Wednesday, so my Foz is looking decidedly unclean!

Against what?

My mondeo's about that bad, but not from one weeks use! Only do 30 miles a day but the car hasn't been washed in a couple of months so its pretty grim. Might get the snow foam out tomorrow if its warm enough :)

Help yourself Steve but it will look the same this time next week, I'll run a pressure washer over it tomorrow.

I came round the M25 earlier and there were cars that were just black at the back, completely unreadable number plates.

Banstead Stig 28-01-2017 08:09 AM

Yeah, I've noticed that lots this week on my travels.

I love my pressure washer.

NL03Scooby 29-01-2017 02:44 PM

Did you use any pre wash, I use ValetPro Citrus pre wash, spray it on, leave it to dwell and pressure wash off, quick cleaning!

Red Baron 29-01-2017 02:49 PM

Nah, just 10 mins with a pressure washer so I could get within a foot of it without getting dirty. I'll give it a proper wash when all the salt is off the roads.

Banstead Stig 29-01-2017 04:48 PM

I cleaned the FSTi today as this was how it was looking...

Whats this citrus pre-wash you speak of then? And what does it do that's different to the ValetPro snow foam?

It's a lot quicker to use and a bit more effective then snow foam, just spray it on straight out the bottle, but doesn't obviously have the coverage of snow foam. It's the same principle, I got 5 litres for around £20, have a search on YouTube to see people using it.

Banstead Stig 29-01-2017 06:12 PM

I generally use a pre wash, but I've run out, so today was a good old fashioned two bucket wash...!

Rdlangy1 29-01-2017 07:16 PM

As rob says - snow foam is more of a coverall that encapsulates loose dirt particles but doesn't really shift built on grime.

Citrus pre-clean starts to break down the built on grime but doesn't really encapsulate the bulky loose bits...

Both do a good job though :ok:

Will have to get a picture of the Golf, its more brown than black

Red Baron 29-01-2017 07:37 PM

Must admit, it was weird driving the Scoob earlier and not having to keep clear the rear window, forgot it's different in a saloon compared to hatch or estate.

Ginola 29-01-2017 07:44 PM

Think the scoob was dirtier, this was Before it went to dartmoor this weekend, where it got much much worse! I actually ruined a set of trousers leaning over the bonnet Friday morning  headlights have been wipped
