Handheld extinguisher

Hi folks,

I'm doing the VSCC Pomeroy Trophy next month at Silverstone (http://www.vscc.co.uk/page/events?eventID=1098) and need a handheld extinguisher in the cabin that meets MSA regs. My car is standard road trim inside (no cage) so I need to work out what to mount it to as well.

Anyone got any tips/suggestions/pictures that might help?

A,few of us have made flat bars that go between the 2 front mounting points of the front passenger seat and then mounted 2.25 l foam extinguishers there, not sure if meets Mesa regs though.

^^^ That's what i've done in mine, metal plate between two passenger front seat bolts, got a 2kg extinguisher mounted there and the seat still slides over it :ok:

Consult the even organisers and the blue book for regs but all MSA stuff for circuit work involves a full cage electrical cut off and plumbed fire extinguishing system.

My plumbed system is coming from..peter Lloyd rallying,

2.25 is the minimum size and can be mounted infront of the passenger seats on an aluminium bar

Thanks, it's under clubman sprint regulations and with a roadgoing series production car class, so cage and plumbed in extinguishers not required

Mine is mounted on the crossmember under the passenger seat. Never been a problem.
