Idle control valve fitting

Have found myself a new idle control valve as mine is being a little tempramental. Is there anything i should be wary of when removing the old one and fitting the new one?

-Am i right in thinking that theres a gasket that'll need replacing?
-What runs through the valve? Air/water etc?
-How do i set up the new sensor?

Any help is appreciated. Cheers chaps and chapettes!

i belive its air / exhaust gasses that are mesured in the valves ,
after doing one on my old vectra (common problem )
there was a gasket behind them
hope that helps
