Bugeye Radiotor
HI guys,
Was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction? I need to replace the radiator on my 01 WRX Bugeye and from a little internet search it seems i have the old style one that doesnt have the rad cap. Question is can i buy one with the rad cap? I've already got a full set of new rad hoses and tubing but what about the overflow metal pipe that goes to the overflow bottle? Thanks |
Not sure about your pipes - but you can go two ways..
Either go for a "performance" radiator which could be something like a mishimoto - or go OEM. The gains aren't that different and most are under the opinion that an OEM radiator does just as good a job :ok: There is a post somewhere regarding types of radiator - have a trawl through and you might find it :ok: Also put something up in the "Wanted" section - perhaps Si or someone else has one going for sale Ryan |
I needed one a few years ago on my WRX Bug, ended up going for an OE from Euro Car Parts :ok:

OE radiators are ment to be better than these aluminium ones that are around.:oldman:

You can get either type of radiator - if you go for one with a rad cap you will need to bend your metal pipe slightly (if you don't get a new one with the radiator) and fit a T-Piece to join the radiator overflow into the existing overflow pipe (or you could put a second hole and pipe into the overflow bottle)
You can see mine here - this is a blob eye radiator in a bugeye: http://i356.photobucket.com/albums/o...sq5ilucyq.jpeg |
Thats awesome thanks for the help guys :) Just gonna get one without a rad cap to save the hassle, i've got a full set of hoses to go in too so should make the engine bay a little nicer.
