who is the best person for porting headers

As title... who is still doing this ??

Is tone still doing this ??

I think Alyn can supply 'Harvey' Headers as well as up-pipes, not heard much from Tone recently so don't know if he's still doing it.

They aren't that difficult to port yourself if you have some tools and a bit of time

this sort of thing

Mortster 03-02-2016 04:15 PM

Did mine on the bug, easy job. Use the old gasket as a template of sorts to match everything up.

Scott.T 03-02-2016 07:28 PM

Carbide Die Grinder is the official name.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5pcs-12mmX...4AAOSwDNdV5Xs8

The one I used was called a metal muncher and looks similar to the one on the far right of that ebay advert.
I then used a fine pointed one to finish. But 95% of the work was done my the muncher.

I was very surprised at how quick it removed material compared to the B&Q regular steel one I tried beforehand

Very tempted to give this a go with my spare manifold from the old car, never thought about the DIY approach, just need to buy some tools and wrestle the manifold from the engine.

The gasket determines where you need to port the headers,

You will find the bore in the headers is smaller than it needs to be when you compare it to bore hole in the gasket.

(I think this is correct)
