RA value ?

Afternoon guys,
Looking for some advice, I've just got back from looking at the cleanest gc8 I've ever seen. The car is a 1999 Sti type RA. I was stunned how clean it is, I can't not describe the cleaness of it. The engine bay is like new, every bolt is still zinc colour, brackets etc etc
The spec is.
99 type RA,
50,000k
Usual sti RA spec, rack, lower ratio box. I/c spray, roof flap ,
Full jap paper work , 1owner in the jap land .

Now it has pink struts , (like new)
Sti pink lateral arms and others (is that standard)
Sti rad hoses
Sti panel filter
Cusco ft+bk anti roll bars
Cusco 4 point brace
Cusco rear diff brace
Sti quick shift
Poss Cusco diffs (to be checked)
It's fresh of the boat so I'd be 1uk owner

What's a immaculate 9.5/10 condition Sti RA worth??

Regards benji

Can't be..... all their cars are ropey apparently.

:tumbleweed:

scooby doo 10-10-2015 09:41 PM

Yea lol but is that to much for a classic when blob sti is that money.?
I love it tho and 90% sure on dropping the hammer down. Thought I'd ask as want a keeper and not up to speed on what the gc8 ra's have etc.
I went to look at a spec c. Got there and wasn't for my Ocd . Just so happened to be parked in ours next to this. And was about to leave. Was just the cleanest classic I've seen. 1-2 hours later. Driven, inspected. Had it on ramp. Washed etc
Heart is set. Just looking for proper insurance as no one stating Ra on there data base's.

Moley_WRX 10-10-2015 09:44 PM

Definately worth the money, they are just going up and up in value at the moment, and good clean ones are getting hard to find.

Easy to insure aswell, although you are correct.... the is no ABI code for pre-97 RA's (assuming you use a specialist)

50/50 on that comment as the three s202 there aren't the greatest but saying that the 34 , rx7 and mak Evo was stunning
And the classic :ok:

scooby doo 10-10-2015 09:46 PM

Cheers needed that reinsurance the price is right. So il be ringing you Monday lol

Moley_WRX 10-10-2015 09:50 PM

If/when I get another Subaru it'd be a Type R or RA, but the prices are constantly on the increase.
So many have been stripped, rotted away, or highly modified that a good clean one like this is very desirable

scooby doo 10-10-2015 09:59 PM

Cheers Gary, that's the little push I needed. Was on the fence looking for newage spec c but seeing in this in the flesh and proper good poke underneath thanks to the guys working there has swayed me , even the misses could see that and she prefers the newage so win win lol

scooby doo 10-10-2015 10:00 PM

Am I right saying that the pink lateral arms and trailing arms that sti did are not stick for this car ? Or are they an optional extra?

munk 11-10-2015 07:59 AM

i had one like this years ago regret selling worth 8 all day long..mine didnt have the pink lateral arms on it.....

riiidaa 11-10-2015 11:47 AM

Do you have a decent garage to keep it in and how often will you intend to use it ?

scooby doo 11-10-2015 01:23 PM

Will be garaged and use I'd say 1-2 times a week as walking distance to work now (whoop)

Banstead Stig 11-10-2015 01:37 PM

I'd pay about that for that car in that condition if that's any help!

If you're not stacking miles on it (sounds like you won't) then it'll at least hold that value. If you keep it long enough, you'll be quids in!

Personally I prefer the Type R, for the aesthetics, but the RA is definitely a classic I'd have.

scooby doo 11-10-2015 01:44 PM

Cheers guys, I won't something to keep and I doubt will see more than 1500miles a year , needs to remain stock to for my wallet and the cars value lol, was just looking for people's views as newage fetch around same value .

scotty 11-10-2015 01:59 PM

Just buy it and get the newage nonsence out of your head as the ra classic is only going one way and that is up in price and as for newage yes you can buy a good type uk for that if you can find one with low mileage and standard which is rare but put it this way a v3 type r went and sold for 8k on a jap auction then add on shipping fees and other bits you are looking at 10k plus to buy .

scooby doo 11-10-2015 02:24 PM

I've emailed sva as he did tell me he was away so can only deal threw email this week . So let's see if I can strike a deal lol

Definitely the way to go then.

Keeping it standard helps massively if you're looking for it to appreciate in value in my opinion.

My plan would be standard wheels fitted refurbed as sitting on volks . Then have the inlet redone to exact same. Every sti classic looses its paint this isn't so bad but to be anal, and source 4 pots and pro refurb as on 2pots or gravel brakes as they like to call them lol . Accelerates nice for stock car but that the lower box ratio and 15s ha

scooby doo 12-10-2015 03:55 PM

I just went looked at a bug eye type RA same millage , same price . Needs small bit of paint , seal, boot and bumper , stock car again but no history
So I'm torn as newage jdm engine and RA 6 speed is brilliant but the bug is known to suffer with corrosion ,
Where as the classic had been dry stored and you could tell

C. J. 12-10-2015 05:23 PM

Buy the RA or it'll be sold and your be kicking yourself

More than what I did in it lol ,

Cheers guys was a tuff one as wanted a newage for the strength , but once I saw this my mind was 90% set I just needed advice on figured etc as can't believe the value scoobs in general have rose .
But this must of been fate as I had zero intention on even looking at this car. Just so happened to catch my eye .

Scott as your the man in the know on the world of suspension on a classic ,
Pink sti struts where there a optional extra and what do they offer over sti reds ?
As this RA had them ..

Pinks with matched springs I believe we're an option. It may sit a touch lower and the struts may have adjustment similar to KYB AGX.
