I brought this car from cheshire performace I'm looking for the guy that built the engine originally any help would be great

That's Sims old RB5. Think all the work was done by SMD in Newhaven originally but I may be wrong.

It's had quite a few owners since the 2.5 was fitted.

Spoken to Sim. Short block was bought off Scoobynet and was made by the guys who prepared mark Higgins Scoob when he did the record on the tt course with forged pistons and rods, the oil pump is a larger one and its got cossie gaskets and arp bolts, this is all from memory, engine was fitted by a friend with some uprated parts and then it was mapped by the late JGM. A lot of other work was done by SMD in Newhaven.

There should have been a folder full of paperwork and history with it.

Hope this helps

A year ago Cheshire Performance claimed they had to spend 2k + getting the car to run right, to justify the price going sky high. When pointed out that I knew the two previous owners and asked what exactly had been done, they started to threaten me....

Cheshire performance seem like such a lovely bunch. It amazes me they are still in business especially with google as your helper.
Its a shame 80% of pistonheads adverts for Subaru's are their stock as the law of averages would suggest that at least some must be good. I wouldn't waste my time though.
