Engine Builder Recommendations?

Hi all, friend of mine is looking to get an engine built ASAP for his P1.

Any suggestions of the best options in the Southern area?

We have a closed deck block to supply and could obviously supply a parts kit to go along for a 2.1 or 2.35 depending on the way he chooses to go forward. Could travel a bit as well if need be- but wanted to get your feedback first.

Any recommendations welcome : )

Cheers

I can recommend Glenn at Carnetix Chris but probably a tad too far, based just outside Melton Morbray :ok:

Engine tuner is the place to go. Had my 2.1 built there and had it running to 490 bhp before I sold it. Be good to know where it is now .

agreed. I would use them should I ever get bits done. I had paul finch re do my 2.1 as he has excellent rep as well.

can easily supply all parts needed as carry most on the shelf or even a complete build although workload would dictate it couldnt be ASAP

Thanks for the great advice all.

Thinking he wants to spec for 600 bhp.

Would a a closed deck 2.1 setup be the most economical way (if one could even use those terms!!) to do this?

Provided he has the right engineering on the block i.e. 14mm stud conversion etc.?

No need for 14mm studs , cosworth 11mm here and arp studs on last 2 builds at 600 and no issue . On the gt30 it was 2.2 bar of boost
I'd look for ej22t as its only the cost of the block that's the difference

If you want an engine builder north of the boarder it would have to be Steve Whiteson of SW Motorsport .

So as far as going 2.35 there really is no price difference apart from getting the EJ22 . Good to know, I need to do some more research.

Will put him in touch with a few folks and he can get some quotes that way. CJ didn't you have someone local to you build yours ??

Mike Latimer a friend of mine but only builds them for friends plus his at sea at moment.
Maybe able to get a ej22t block if needed
