Been to this event the past two years, really nice day out and as you say it's a no brainier with the price reduced as much as it is.

Let's hope we can get enough people to justify a club stand, it's certainly growing as an event each year!

The organisers have confirmed a minimum of 5 for a club stand and that I don't need to let them know until 10 days before the event (approx.)

So 'OP' has been modified to reflect that I will arrange a stand/area, if we have 5 or more.

10 days before for the club stand according to the organiser. But I would bring that forward to 14 so that it gives me time to make contact with them.

It will be your own responsibility via the link above to purchase and ensure you have tickets in time.

Do you definitely have to buy tickets in advance?

I read something to the contrary on the website.

I'd ideally like to leave the decision to the last minute. :)

Been the last two years and bought tickets on the gate both times, wasn't as part of a club however. Maybe for the sake of organisation we are being advised to purchase tickets pre event for easy, hassle free entry?

xxxmike 14-07-2015 10:24 PM

such a shame i cant make this one! I hope everyone has a great time! I have been forced into a family camping trip!

Scott.T 15-07-2015 12:08 AM

As a club with allocated parking we need to advise numbers pre event. Therefore I need people to buy in advance.
If it were left to pay on gate I could look a right cock if only half the numbers turn up.
That said if people don't pay in the next couple of days we won't have enough for a club stand anyway.

We are 6 paid with yourself and Big-E paid, enough for a club stand ;)

Come on the rest of you! :)

Scott.T 15-07-2015 12:24 PM

E is now out due to work requirements.
It may end up an individual event rather than SES club.

I've updated the list above minus BigE, but I'm sure we can get enough to make it worth a club stand. Come on guys, get paid up please! This should be a good event!

Okay, apologies I hadn't appreciated the club stand bit.

I'll have to pass on the stand bit as I can't commit until closer to the time.

Message from Organisers :

"The gates open at 9am and we open to the public at 10am. We will still let you in after 10 but if possible would prefer as many vehicles in before"

We therefore need to aim for 9am, so need to think about a meet point somewhere on the A27.

This might seem cliché, but the back of sainsburys/Mcdonalds car park on the A27 roundabout (turn off for Goodwood etc)?? probably aim to meet 7.15 /20 leave at 7.30?

Good meeting point, but too early :)

Google maps says its only 1 hr and 1 minute to Beaulieu from Chichester McD's, so morelike meet 7:50 and leave at 8am. On a Sunday morning, we'll probably make it there in less than an hour anyway ;)

Just had a thought....

I assume gazebos are allowed? If so, can anyone assist with getting it down there? I'm bringing Claire & Ellie and it won't go in the car with the baby seat as it just about squeezes through the ski-hatch on the newage.

Well I know Rob is a big lad (pmsl!!!) but Ill have back seats free or can move my cleaning stuff onto back seat and put through ski hatch... (admittedly I didn't know we had a ski hatch !!!pmsl :ok:

Check first as I'm sure not all do ;) If you have the arm-rest that folds down in the back seats, then you have the ski hatch too. Think some models were just fixed seats without it though....

Rdlangy1 28-07-2015 10:33 AM

I def have the arm rest in the back as when I go slightly quicker the bloody thing keeps flopping down! ha ha ha :ok:

But I will double check tonight...

So you have problems too with things flopping down at speed, just keep a steady pace is what I say...

Sounds like you logistics for the journey on Sunday could prove interesting Ryan, lots of people to see and places to be!

If Ginola is converting his car into the SES naffy wagon there will be plenty of room next to the hamper ;)

If you have it, drop it round on Sat, it will fit I would think, (I do have a ski hatch, but not sure what Wanda is planning in the way of catering stuffs) If you saw how much kit I squeezed in for the last Germany Trip... (and in the car too!)

Ok maccy D' it is

Steve_PPP 01-08-2015 01:19 PM

See everyone at Chichester Mc'Ds at 8am then :)

Just FYI guys, I put the Beaulieu postcode into Google maps and it tries to take me into the motor museum from the wrong side via a closed road. The main entrance is on Hatchett Lane isn't it?

Mike L - can you PM me your number and I'll try and call you as we come past Portsmouth so you can drop onto the M27 and join the group?

PaulScooby - not sure whereabouts you are down Southampton way, but Google maps suggests we'll be coming off the M27 at J3 then going down M271 before onto the A roads to Beaulieu. Must be a layby or something you can wait at for us to come past, or you can try and meet us there.

Scott.T 01-08-2015 02:20 PM

Personally I would ignore the SatNav and go via Lyndhurst.
A much nicer route in across the Forest Heathland.
40mph limit but much more to see and may as well see the New Forest while down that way.

Scott.T 01-08-2015 02:51 PM

For those not meeting at Chichester and who may enter the event on their own, please put an A4 sheet in your window with 'South East Scoobies' in large font. They will then direct you to the parking area.

Banstead Stig 02-08-2015 08:02 PM

Mrs Stig was poorly, so I missed out. Gutted as the pics I've seen so far looked brilliant. :(

Look forward to seeing pics from you chaps!

The Handbrake 02-08-2015 08:35 PM

Thanks Scott and thank you all for a lovely day xx

Scott.T 02-08-2015 10:20 PM

Thanks to everyone that came along today.
Was a very chilled day from the Mcmuffin breakfast through to the cake and coffee's.
I hope you all enjoyed the day, the weather and a taster of the New Forest.

We also shot down to Hurst Castle for an ice cream and gander at the Isle of Wight, watched horses with no knowledge of the Green Cross Code and left lemon drizzle on the windows of Meridian Ferrari.

All in all a great day all round......

Had a lovely day yesterday :-D

Grate to meet you all and looking forward to goodwood :drive:

Steve_PPP 03-08-2015 10:47 AM

Great day for sure. Good turnout, loads of nice cars to look at, agree that there was plenty of WTF examples too! Thanks for the coffee and cake Wanda :ok:

Drive home with Dave and a white GTR was hilarious. I need to refill my washer bottle now though, I appear to have emptied most of it onto another blue scoob that was in my mirror

NL03Scooby 03-08-2015 01:39 PM

Had a good, relaxed day yesterday at a lovely location with great company! Thanks Scott for organising and a massive thanks to Steve for transporting me to and from the event :thanx:.

Not sure if anyone else took up the opportunity to go on the 'Wheels' ride inside the museum, Ryan had renamed it the tunnel of love, after we had got on the ride that was...

Cake and refreshments from Wanda were top quality as always, thank you very much!

Finally, thanks Dave for the entertainment on the way home, your car is fast (although not GTR fast :-D) but is obviously slowed down considerably by washer bottle fluids from other Scoobs...

I have loads of pics to put up at some point too....

Rdlangy1 03-08-2015 01:47 PM

Hey hold on now!!! I resent that comment!........................well kinda! :ok: ha ha

The Handbrake 03-08-2015 01:51 PM

I'm surprised you didn't hear me screaming lol:angst::angst:. Was funny with the washer bottle revenge after he gassed you out on revving in the morning lol

The Handbrake 03-08-2015 01:54 PM

It was my fault he couldn't quite go past the GTR oh and all the stuff in the boot hehe. That guy in the GTR was hot too.

So funny with the vroom vroom red mist full concentration (in keeping up with the GTR) then slosh from Steves windscreen on the roundabouts haha. I kept going from screaming to oh he is hot to hahaha when steve got him with the windscreen washers. A roller coaster ride home
