SES Trackday - Goodwood, Saturday 11th April

Saturday April 11th

Harwoods Charity Track-Day : http://www.harwoods.uk.com/news-even...ity-track-day/

I have managed to negotiate with Harwoods the acceptance of SES joining them on their Charity Trackday and they will also enable us to split a Day Ticket between 2 members, therefore reducing the costs.

Currently there are 4 Full Day Passes Available (£205 each)
OR
8 Split Ticket, Shared Full Day Passes Available (£102.50)

Price includes buffet lunch

Further details :

The event will be limited to 40 cars (105dB noise limit) in groups of 5 with a running pit lane queue. There will be ample track time for every entrant. Once paid if you are unable to attend, we can only refund if we are able to fill your slot.
Drivers will be reminded at the drivers briefing that on laps session there may be a considerable speed difference amongst cars. Crash helmets for drivers + passengers are mandatory and can be hired from Goodwood for £10.00 for the day.
· There is an age restriction of 16 on the circuit.
· All arms/ legs must be covered for both driver & passenger.
· No driver, passenger or spectator will be allowed in the pit lane or onto the circuit without displaying an appropriate wristband which will be given at the drivers briefing.

For Split tickets, as they are running an 'Open-Pitlane' policy you will not be able to join the queue until your share partner has returned from being on-track.

However as it is Open-Pitlane I would expect the split tickets to get 4 or more sessions per car, which is better value then previous events, which were £30 per session.

Scott.T 20-03-2015 05:13 PM

Morning/Afternoon isn't really an option as it's open pit-lane rather then allocated sessions.
It would be unfair to expect someone to hang around all morning, unless you pair up with someone who wants to do only afternoon.

I would have to check if there is a lunchtime briefing, which normally there is, even if it's a 1-2-1.

Scott.T 20-03-2015 05:15 PM

Anyone else ?
Price will reduce to £90 per car for a split ticket (or £180 for full day pass).
SES will donate £25 to the Charity for each Full Day Pass, therefore reducing the costs per person.

SpecB 20-03-2015 06:51 PM

I would do but the car won't be run in / mapped by then but I will pop over yo say Hi!

Sti mayhew 20-03-2015 07:43 PM

This sounds excellent, is it possible to put me down as a provisional yes as I won't know for def till mid week??
When do you need the money by also?

Scott.T 20-03-2015 09:56 PM

I promised to let the organisers know Monday as there are only 4 places left.
I would then need to get the money to them during the mid/latter part of the week.

Sti mayhew 21-03-2015 07:42 AM

Oh ok thanks, I will try find out by Sunday lunch time for definite then thanks.

Banstead Stig 21-03-2015 08:01 AM

Is this open for spectators to come along?

The FSTi isn't for the track, but if I'm free I'd quite like to pop along.

Thinking about a possible track toy, so would be good to see how days like this work, being entirely oblivious to it!

I've only ever driven supercars on track, which is a different arrangement!

Yes just drive in, go through tunnel and park up in the paddock.
I've not been to a trackday yet at any venue that discourages or charges spectators.

Banstead Stig 21-03-2015 11:31 AM

Great, I'll aim to come along then. :)

Indeed, this is probably the best chance of doing an easy track day this year through SES. Good price, great circuit (better to drive than Brands imo) and lunch included.

I'm sure Moley will be able to sort track cover for those who want it too

C. J. 21-03-2015 07:07 PM

The price for Goodwood is very good and on a Saturday to :)
But a full proper open pit day at some where like snetterton on the 300 is £139 including drnks and snacks .

drakesnow 21-03-2015 08:23 PM

Have to bump this and agree that this is a great track and venue, great price, and most of all a great crew : D

Wish I could make this !

C. J. 21-03-2015 08:43 PM

Don't get me wrong , think it's a great track and a very good price as said for Goodwood

Scott.T 21-03-2015 10:42 PM

Can those that are defiantly doing either a full or half day please make the required payment to payments@southeastscoobies.co.uk via paypal. I then won't have to chase you Sunday/Monday.

Cheers

Scooby_Greg 22-03-2015 07:30 AM

Payment sent - I'll also get the form to you today. Slight modification needed as tested at 107....

Im happy to swap it round on the day or share Dave. Im not planning to do too many laps - using it mainly as a gentle shakedown test. May also have to disappear in the afternoon - not too sure yet. Hoping it will be dry otherwise it will be the Clio out on circuit

Not sure how it will work out, we can probably swap it about.
We just need to make sure there's never more then 2 of us in the queue at any one time, for those sharing.
Si can join the queue when he likes.

Not sure, I only know as much as is on the website.

They did ask if payment was for July, which I confirmed 'No' it's for April.
So I assume there is another in July which may be worth a punt.

Sounds good - should hopefully be sunny weather!

nikkinokkinoo 26-03-2015 10:29 AM

Are there still places on this, 3 allocated tickets meaning 1 full or 2 x half left is that right? Do you just call them direct ?

Scott.T 26-03-2015 11:28 AM

They may have 1 full day left at £205. You could call them from the link above.

nikkinokkinoo 26-03-2015 01:15 PM

My pref would have been the split, but will pop down anyway as I have permish from her in doors, if any one drops out of the half day you have a willing stand in and I will pay you straight away.

Hongkongfooi 26-03-2015 07:57 PM

i'll be along to watch. Hopefully Wanda might provide track cakes Dave?

Red Baron 26-03-2015 08:00 PM

I shall be there as an observer as well unless the weather says otherwise.

no worries Greg, i'm going to be too knackered by weekend to do a full day, my Scoob is causing a major ball ache at the moment. Still i think i am getting back on track apart from the bonnet release cable that snapped this evening, need to urgently find one. Can Dave H help with this these days?

Still tensioner snapped on air con when putting new belt on, fully solved by binning aircon!

Dave H still does some mechanics but I know he's manic with his day job at the moment and so probably will not have the opportunity before Saturday. Between us we may be able to sort out on the day!

I don't believe so, but they certainly have to sign on and pay the passenger fee (which I think is £10) before getting an wristband to be allowed on track. Hopefully someone can confirm, but I think this is how its worked last time.

Helmets are available from Goodwood to hire for the day or bring your own.

Scooby_Greg 08-04-2015 05:39 PM

Goodwood generally need the passengers to be around at the same time in order to get the wrist bands. They don't have to listen to the briefing but it's normally the case that's the only time you can get the bands. Not sure about this being a Harwoods day though.

Ginola 08-04-2015 06:47 PM

Should also be able to offer a passenger lap or two as I doubt The Handbrake wants to be in the car for lots of it ;) Not sure about the passenger wrist band status either, don't know if there is a late (lunch time briefing where passengers could get a wrist band or not)

Scott.T 08-04-2015 07:16 PM

It's not clear (unless I missed something) if there is an additional charge for 'Passengers' but the total price is detailed as being for car + driver(s) so there does not appear to be a charge for additional drivers, therefore I would assume the same for passengers.

I expect you will be able to sign on as a passenger at any time as there is usually someone around in the Jackie Stewart suite.
Drivers (+ Guest) do get lunch ;)

DRIVER Briefing is at 0830

555_Si 08-04-2015 08:39 PM

Scoob is almost ready for mot, new downpipe fitted tonight, old one sheared into two as I was taking it off!

I can highly recommend a lap with Steve - one of the highlights of the last time we were on the Ring : D .

I would have full faith in his ability at Goodwood too!!

As for Dave, he'll be flagged back in after tripping off the noise limit on the back straight no doubt ; 0

And when you go out with him he'll be wide eyed, gritting his teeth, and cackling like a maniac ; )

Well worth it - despite what the The Handbrake may have to say !

Hope you all have a great time- really wish I could join you !!!

Baking at the mo. Only cakes, biscuits and coffee this time as plenty of food available otherwise at Goodwood. Lemon drizzle squares, chequered flag cookies, coffee and walnut cake and either brownies or baked cheesecake ( not decided on last one). Sugar rush to keep those minds eyes peeled all day xx.

Oh Dave is bring "that exhaust" again so your dead right with the black flag but he will be taking his spare lol.

If Dave is concentrating hard on a lap he sounds like darth vadar.

I'm as relaxed as a lazy Sunday morning going round with Dave, the sheer terror on my face was just for the photos... honest.

Dave is an awesome driver though just im a " trying hard to be good co pilot" which I'm told or rather I plead is often better out of the car where I can wave my arms about to my hearts content.
