Oh and my new harvey smith up-pipe :ok:

Bolesroor 18-03-2015 03:50 PM

Very nice, are you able to post up a before and after sound vid?

Rdlangy1 18-03-2015 04:23 PM

Once fitted mate :ok:

BIG"E" 18-03-2015 04:59 PM

Very nice I am interested how it sounds..

Rdlangy1 18-03-2015 05:03 PM

3" with only a sports cat so hopefully sound pleasant :ok: love the note from dave's - so if anything like that then I'll be happy...more for performance and still MOT pass and replacing a rusty 12yrs old system :ok:

NL03Scooby 18-03-2015 08:34 PM

Nice! Gotta love shiny new parts, when are you getting it fitted? Have you still got the standard system at the moment?

Rdlangy1 18-03-2015 08:51 PM

Being fitted 25th April and yes standard at moment besides a backbox which was on the car when I got it.
It's also having its up-pipe fitted - all my silicone hoses, 3 port boost solenoid, updated fuel pump, and dump valve and then I'm waiting on Duncan to confirm re-map date of 22nd may :-)

Ryan :ok:

Red Baron 18-03-2015 09:07 PM

I've got the same back box but in 2 1/2", don't expect to be passing any noise limits on track days with a full system.

Should be an easy 330 when it's mapped.

Nice Quality Cobra.
Quite loud though if no other cats or silencers fitted. That's why I sold mine to Red Baron.
Hopefully the sports-cat will mute it a touch.

Rdlangy1 18-03-2015 09:12 PM

Cobra reckon 95-96 decibel which is right on the limit I think?? - so fingers crossed :ok:

Rdlangy1 18-03-2015 09:13 PM

And id be happy with 330bhp :-)

NL03Scooby 18-03-2015 09:29 PM

So you should be expecting a big difference in noise then. Once everything is sorted as you have mentioned you are going to have a very decent motor on your hands!

Red Baron 18-03-2015 09:37 PM

As you can see, the Cobra silencer is a lot smaller than the Prodrive one in both diameter and length.

Brother made 331 on his with a similar spec, he had standard sti up pipe and a full decat.

NL03Scooby 18-03-2015 09:51 PM

Quite a difference in size, can see why it's on the noisy side of the scale!

Rdlangy1 19-03-2015 02:42 PM

Agreed :ok:
Out of you ring / track bods - is the noise limit 95 decibels? Thought I read it somewhere?
Dave didn't you day you were 1 decibel under?

Yes, but its not enforced unless you rev your car silly at the entrance barrier. There are no drive-by sound sensors on the ring to check for noise at speed.

Most of us would fail a 95db noise test but never a problem if you're quiet by the barriers/in the car park.

Rdlangy1 19-03-2015 03:49 PM

When I eventually get to the ring next year I'll be so slow they will prob kick me off for being to slow let alone to loud!! Ha ha

Thanks Steve :ok:

Same system I've got on my wrx apart from my down pipe which is jap speed. Sounds nice I think and great though tunnels :)

drakesnow 20-03-2015 12:28 AM

Fail a noise test on the fly by...

Cough....

Ginola lol.

My cobra setup actually clocks pretty low at the static noise test, its just on boost ; 0 : 0

scoobycoops 26-04-2015 03:23 PM

That looks amazing.... please upload sound file of it singing
