Classic or newage

Evening all
I currently own a bug wagon I've had just over a year now but I really fancy selling or swapping it and getting a facelift classic !

I have owned a couple of classics before just not changed back to one from new age

Just wondered if any of you have changed from new age back to classic and your views ! We're you pleased or did you regret and why ?

Also if any of you may be interested I could provide info and pics !

Thanks in advance Paul

I regretted every minute when I swapped my bug for a classic, yes the classic felt more raw as they say, but I missed the comfort of the newage, also the newage doesn't seem to rattle about as much, if it's looks on the other hand I really do like the look of the classics over the newage.

Cheers Dan I do remember you saying that when I saw you !
Do you think yours views would have been different had that guy not stitched you up ?

Yeah, they probably would have been different to be fair mate, I did enjoy driving the classic just used to rattle and bang about a bit where it was old I suppose, I just prefer the comfort of the newage but I suppose it's personal preference, I have been in a few other classics since my one and none of them seemed as comfortable or smooth as the newer models but again that's gonna be the same as any car as they bring out newer models/variations.

If it's a road car I'd stay newage

Yeah that's very true matey ! I might just take the plunge and go for it ! I do love the bug but really miss my old classic ! I'll have to give it a clean and get some nice pics to advertise it and just see what happens :) I've just had it motd so should sell it pretty quick ! The difficult bit is finding a decent classic for sale ! I remember how many sheds I viewed when buying my last one !!!!

Yeah it is a road car cj but I only travel 3 miles to work each day so the only other miles I do are just for fun lol !!

That alternator I got from you was spot on by the way mate the annoying noise has now gone away thank you

Yeah that's true, good classics are going for strong money at the moment mate, i think the only thing that will slow your sale down is its a wagon, not that I find anything wrong with wagons and yours is a very nice, clean standard one, they just don't seem to sell as well as saloons, I've seen some wrx bug wagons go for £1200 recently which is a bit gutting really. But also as CJ says, yours is your daily driver so that's another thing to consider before parting with it for a classic.

Crikey £1200 for a bug wagon that's a steal !!
Mines just tipped over the 100k mark so pretty good mileage !
I'll have to do a bit more research I think ;)
The good thing is I'm in no rush to do anything so will see what comes up etc

Both

I've got a Bug for everyday ( well actually hardly ever ) and a V1 Classic for sometimes ( which is even less than the Bug )

For long trips, Bug every time, but for short blasts has to be the classic.

scoobie_paul 01-02-2015 09:36 PM

Haha if only two was an option for me !
I am swaying towards the classic side of things !!!

I use my classic everyday to get to work and back love giving it a blip on the motorway .

scoobie_paul 02-02-2015 07:24 AM

And a mighty fine classic you have too scotty ;)

There's something special about a facelift classic.....I think it has to do with being a child of the original Playstation and Gran Turismo generation
