Black box

Does anyone know what this is for found it under the centre console .

Looks like a control box for the alarm, should have a little dial where them lines and + - signs are to turn either sensitivity or sound up. Could be wrong though.

I turned the dial using a screw driver locked the car using the fob still no sound .
