Daily driver type R

Hi guys looking for some info
Need a daily driver ATM but something that's not,, well boring lol,
Must be reliable, half decent On fuel, so I've thought of a civic type R around 2004, insurance is around £350 a year which I was surprised at,
Any one owned one etc?
Will be make a trip down to the ring in 4 weeks so be pretty cool to take one Down for some fun ,

Looking at around £4000 for the daily driver ,
The sunny goes next week so a scoob will replace that but I think that's going to be a while till I find what I'm after

Any info be cool

I've had my 2004 type R for about a year now and it's a great car! Really fun to drive, plus you can still get reasonably good fuel economy with it. A full tank of super unleaded (about £55) will get me about 330 miles. Mine gets used almost every day and I love it!

If you do go ahead with this, keep us posted, as I am thinking about doing the very same!

Cool 32mpg sounds good to me better than the 19 ATM,
Looking at one on Friday in a honda dealer, 60k with full honda service and all orignal,
If all good should be the new daily hack lol, and a smash around the ring in September lol

I might know of a 2005 black one if the one youre looking at doesn't pan out - guy I know mentioned he was selling his the other day , fairly sure it was low miles but would need to check for sure - it was defo a tidy one

I made it 38mpg.

I'm looking for a daily driver for 15k miles a year. Was thinking about a diesel, but this seems a much more interesting idea!!!

Daily driver type R

I do like Hondas. It's a completely different drive to a scoob, but they do feel much more light, revvy and nimble. Very nice and easy daily drive and cheaper to run. Inside its a lot more modern. Very reliable too.

No grin as the turbo kicks in and not so solidly planted on the road in the wet or in the snow but you can't have everything :)

What size tank has it got? £55 ÷ £1.30/litre = appx 42 litre tank.

I think it's around 45 litres, I could probably get a bit more than £55 in it if I ran it to empty

Well job done, picked up the R for a daily hack, seems a nice drive, and Salisbury to Hastings I used little more of a quarter of a tank not bad for 120miles , seems a pleasant drive and will be fine for daily chors

Nice one.
