Annoying one piece prodrive exhaust

Just went to spray all the nuts and bolts on exhaust and rear arb in preparation for fitting the rear whiteline arb i got given

It looks like it will be simpler if not the only way and online searches seem to suggest drop the back off the exhaust to replace the arb ?

Anyway plan was to drop the prodrive back box off and swap it for the newly cleaned and very shiney scooby sport type one i was given so i could do tye rear arb and then clean tye prodrive rear exhaust box right up before refitting at a later date

Anyway it looks like my rear box and center section is all one piece ! Have reciepts for prodrive replacing rear box a few years ago due to manafacturing defect so maybe the reason for this oddity ,, or are they all like that ?

So i guess ill drop the whole exhaust down from the next join and fit the whole scooby sport type system so i can bring the prodrive out for a clean up

Just have never read about one piece prodrive exhausts anywhere

The prodrive were all separate from the centre as far as i know. Have you got any pics of the exhaust?

Can you not just remove from rubbers/hangers and then pull arb back along the exhaust? I don't remember removing mine to fit arb, but I'm sure I had to lower exhaust slightly.

oh cool that would be nice if its that easy - last arb I fitted was on a landrover and it was a pig to get the arb back near enough to get the bolts on the thread to do it back up again - ended up using a trolley jack to encourage it back up so was presuming all arbs were the same ie - difficult

Can be done without removing exhaust, but much easier if the cars on a ramp as you can twist/angle it round the exhaust as you remove it :)

Sure it can be done on a jack, just more fiddley.

I managed to get mine off with the help of a mate, by taking a wheel off and sliding it out that way. No need to drop the exhaust.

some one has cut the flanges off and welded the centre/back box together by the looks of the pics..........

ok well looks like the arb is for the front anyway ! went to fit and noticed it had the wrong droplinks so offered it up to the rear and its defo a different shape ! not in so much of a hurry to fit a front one as its the rear I wanted to get a handle on the understeer

Has the whiteline arb got a sticker with the model number on it? You can check on website as to what model it's for.
