I'm trying to find what would be the best tyre to buy for road use with maximum grip for a set 18" alloys on my terzo .

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric s

Hankook evo V12s

Vredesteins

Pirelli P Rosso or P Zeros

All depends on your driving and also budget, you can not beat a good old tyre debate...

I have continental Contactsport 5's on my mondeo (with 18's). Now without laughing - I know it doesn't have the power of a scooby, but the car is heavy, and in the wet, and dry, these tyres stick pretty well :-)

I know mine isn't a scooby or on 18's but I've just fitted Michelin pilot super sport's and so far I'm really impressed

I find the Vredestein Sessantas good in the dry and excellent in the wet, done a few wet trackdays with them and been very impressed.

I'd recommend them as its always raining in Scotland ;)

I like my Vredestein Sessantas, but as they are wearing I've noticed the beginnings of tramlining, which I hope doesn't get worse as they have been great until now and that would be disapppointing.

When new they coped with snow brilliantly and as Steve says, wet or dry, really impressive.

My wife's Impreza needs new boots soon and we're considering P Zeros.

A recent tyre debate on Surrey Scoobies highlighted a hidden gem in the Nangkang range which outperform far more expensive rubber. The recommendation was based on the chap's first hands experience, not received opinion. Just another to throw in the mix!

As said above, you can't beat a tyre debate... well, maybe a brake debate... maybe an exhaust debate...!

I'm liking the Vredestein Sessantas so far, seem to be getting better with more miles on them......... handle wet roads very well and give a good feel. Prefer them to the Yoko prada spec2 that were on the car before, also not as much road noise from them.

Michelin pilot sport 2 on the S-max and 22B are also very good all rounder.

I've seen a thread running on Scoobynet about a new Nangkang tyre, their NS2R.... very good price for a track focussed tyre if it turns out to be up to scratch....

I have used the Vredesteins for years and they are fantastic, both in the wet and dry, and on road and track.

I'm very tempted to try the Federal 595 RSR's though, as i've heard some very good reviews on them

Sounds like vredesteins are the best option just got a price on mytryes web site 225/40/18 £86.90 per corner with rim protection .
