It's not a SES thing, it's a Subaru rally thing.

Google Subaru rally pig.

Well u live and learn - just showing my complete noob knowledge there! Thanks bud

It was a personal sponsor for Petter Solberg and also Toshihiro Arai, which sort of got adopted / associated more with Subaru than the drivers. The pig was incorporated in to the SES logo as so many people associated with it being a Subaru thing. The SES flag logo was designed by Steve Green (worzel / spocksbeard) and after a few attempts ended up as it is now. The current SES banner incorporating the flag was designed by Claire_PPP........... the pig has been the cause of many a conversation as some like it some don't.........

Quote:

The pig is a mascot for the Japanese manga (comic) magazine Young Magazine. It's always somewhere on the cover... The pig appears on Petter Solberg's rally car. For the past two years the pig has only been on the driver's side mirror. Back in 2002 it showed up on the co-driver's side as well, but that seems to have been dropped now. It ONLY appears on Petter's car -- Mikko's car doesn't have it, and Tommi's (when he was with Subaru) did not either. Toshihiro Arai (in the Production championship) has the pig on both of his side mirrors, as well as a little piggie on his driving suit. I suspect that it's a personal sponsor, rather than sponsoring the entire Subaru World Rally Team or STi."

Download the vector logo of the Subaru Pig Manga Mascot brand designed by Darren Hughes in Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) format. The current status of the logo is obsolete, which means the logo is not in use by the company anymore.

Awesome! I think it's quirky :-)

It's also painted in yellow on the bridge at Adenau on the Nurburgring :-)

It's still there. The guys painted it off the driving line so it lasts for ages.

This is a relatively new clip - you can see it at about 4:15 in (along with a very near miss a few seconds earlier!)
