Octobers 13th Meeting @ Brooklands Autumn Motorsports Festival Day.
 

I have been in communication for a while with the events organiser of the Brooklands Autumn Motorsports Festival.

SES have invited to have a stand at this years event.

I have recieved the following email today which gives some additional info:

Program for October 13th

13.00 Silver Arrows demo at MB World
14.00 Test Hill Drivers' briefing
14.45-15.30 Test Hill
17.00 Event and Museum closed

Ticket information
Adult £12, Seniors/Students £11 Children (5-16) £6

It is a requirement of Mercedes-Benz World management that owners of track demonstration cars must present their driving licences at signing on. This will take place for drivers and passengers from 09.00 and drivers (only) also need to attend the track demonstration safety briefing at 11.00.

Minimum age for passengers on track is 16. No age restriction for Test Hill.

Competition car owners are also invited to take part in the 14.45pm Test Hill session and will need to attend the briefing at 14.00 where wristbands will be issued. While the Test Hill has a steep incline it can easily accommodate lowered cars (see pictures).

In addition to the motorsport displays we also have car club and classic car displays in support of the event. These cars will be located on the Finishing Straight on the approach to the Banking. There will be an opportunity for some of these cars to take part in the Test Hill session.

All display and track demonstration cars will have exclusive entry via the Brooklands Road entrance.

There will a few spaces available for a drive up the Test Hill :ok:

If anyone would like to make their scoob look like a race car ie. roll cage decals etc. you can also drive round the Mercedes World Test Track.

Apparently Colin McRae's Rally Scoob is going to be on display.

This is nice and local to me, so it may mean I can finally get to meet some more of you guys.

Nothing in the diary at the moment, so I am certainly interested in coming along.

For the stand, no. Won't really know till the weekend concerned whether it's feasible, but as its only a couple of miles away it's easy to pop along if the planets are in alignment.

Its only 10 mins drive from the Cobham Services on the M25 so that could be an easy solution :)

i think there is a supermarket nearby, Asda maybe, that's where I have met people in the past.

There's a Sainsburys a few mins down the road (other side of A3) that we've used a few times in the past for Mercedes Benz World events, but it'll be a bit busier with shoppers at 10am rather than the usual 7:30am on a Sunday!

What's happening regarding tickets/payments ?

Tickets are pay on the day,

Which is handy just in case the weather is inclement. :nod:

Is it a requirement to have a cage etc to get to drive the track?

The Brooklands Tesco is thirty seconds away, but same issue of being busy on a Sunday morning.

Cobham services is a decent bet... although a pain if you don't need to go on the M25.

I can't immediately think of anywhere better to be honest.

Will the supermarkets really be busy at say 9am on a Sunday when we meet up?

Doubtful they don't open til 10am

The Tesco is literally 30 seconds away, so would be more like 10am I had thought.

It would certainly be convenient if it was 9am.

Most supermarkets open their doors at 9:30am on a Sunday and start the tills up at 10:00am.

We should be OK to meet there for 9:50 and leave at 10:00 for a 10:15 entry into Brooklands. It's not like the car park will be rammed at 10:00 on a Sunday.

Where's everyone meeting up before getting there ?

I'll happily meet up at patcham BP and/or Peas Pottage if you/anyone fancies it?

Any update on track or test hill time? What are the plans and conditions for that?

With regard to the track:

After discussion with the organiser, we (SES) as far as I know we only have one eligible scoob to go on the test track, the organizer wanted any scoob that wanted to go on the test track to look like, a track prepared race car, so with the exception of CJ, I don't think anyone else s scoob would qualify.
If anyone else has a track prepared scoob that is attending please let me know.

With regard the run up the hill :

I have been allocated 6 positions, the names of peeps that wish to participate in this will be put in to a hat to decide who gets a place.
