Best petrol in France when Shell stations are not available?
Just wondering what petrol everyone prefers to fill up with in France when Shell stations are not available? Driving down to the Alps for the week and there aren't many around in that neck of the woods. Does anyone trust the French supermarket 98 petrols?

Whats your scoob been mapped for? vPower or tesco 99 only?
|
Not re-mapped at all. Standard MY00 classic turbo, just a K&N filter and an Afterburner Vortex back box. Just heard stories of pre-ignition with cheaper petrols..

Will be fine with any super unleaded then i'm sure. If you're worried, take a couple of bottles of octane booster with you just to be safe :)
|
Also if you're on unknown petrol, just take it easy with the right foot.

I drove to Lauterbrunnen in May. Stick to the toll Motorways in France and you wont have any problems, the signs for the services tell you what Brand of Petrol is at the next one, and they always show the next 3.
Once you get into Swiss, the only issues is working out how to use them. 90% of them are unmanned. Hope you cant speak French and German! |
@BlueBugEye, that's what I was hoping to avoid.. I'll pack a couple of bottles of octane booster, but are there any petrols in France which are known/trusted and won't require me to be so light footed for a week? Keeping a Scooby below 2,500rpm in the Alps for a week won't be easy!
Thanks for your responses so far guys! |
