Gave the P1 some love & care and heres the result
100,000 miles now and in it's 5th year of "running" 500+ bhp.
Currently running 548 on V Power http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...3/DSC_0043.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...3/DSC_0044.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...3/DSC_0037.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...3/DSC_0039.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...3/DSC_0036.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...3/DSC_0028.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...3/DSC_0025.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...3/DSC_0018.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...3/DSC_0017.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...3/DSC_0019.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...3/DSC_0006.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...3/DSC_0048.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...3/DSC_0047.jpg |

Very impressive, congratulations Skullfudge :10:
|
Stunning!

Love it mate, nice one!

Porker place in Guildford?
|
The car is a credit to the time and effort you have lovely put into it. Can't believe that it's five years at that output. I think it must have been four years ago that you very kindly allowed me to drive it. Keep up the good work Clive.:polish:
PS Good to see you back in the loop.:ok: |

Out if interest if I may, how many miles have you done on that build? Had any major issues?
|
Nice pictures and nice car!!
Has it beena trouble free 5 years @ 500bhp?? |
48,500 miles running 500+ including 22,000 on 20% meths on original RCM build and the only thing ever to go wrong was a map sensor failure.
At 48,500 I damaged a valve whilst off the clock. Just over 6000 miles done since a complete engine refresh. It's now a 2.1 and running better than ever. GT35 or Meths would take it over 600 but what I have is plenty for the street and track when driven hard. I need to get BigE sitting in the passenger seat to show him what a proper Scoob goes like ;) Hugh is correct that is Tonbridge, and thanks for the nice comments chaps. |
Top work Clive, such a lovely deep blue shine. Lets hope she carries on healthy for another 100k.

It must really shift that much power in a classic

That's the bit that people overlook. About 457 bhp per ton at the moment. Even after all this time I still get in the thing and think Jeez this things quick, which is nice. |
That's seriously impressive. It's a credit to you mate, RCM seem pretty good too ;-)
|
Amazing car. I love how you've kept the exterior looking more or less standard, and it's clearly in great condition. It must put the frighteners on some really expensive kit... At that power to weight I'm sure nothing in the Porsche dealership would get a look in!
|
One Impressive,stonkingly fast p1
|
Thanks guys.
It would see most Porkies off but on track with GT2RS's would struggle on grip unless I was on slicks or similar. Nige's new age was out cornering mine as he was on 888's so I'll be having those for next years trip. It was my main issue from the start to retain the P1's natural look and it hasn't turned out too bad. Other than the brakes and the black mesh hiding the IC it looks pretty much standard. Still to this day I don't know how they fitted the huge APS 725R IC, hence losing the spot lights. The light covers are only on the car as I have no lights behind them :) |
I honestly wouldn't change a thing about it. Makes me want one!
|
Looking good as always:doubleup:
Knowing how you use the car its a credit to yourself and RCM for how well the cars held up:five: Yours and Farley's are the best P1's out there IMHO It is also good to see you looking in and posting more on SES lately, you have been missed:nod: |
Stu ... take a P1 out for a drive. There are some lovely examples that come up for sale and at crazy cheap prices.
I like and have driven several 400+ new age Scoobs but if I were honest they are no where near as raw as a classic. You really do feel a classic through your butt. Ron......... I am also surprised at how few problems I have had with it. Not so much the engine but the car it self. Cornering on the limits still feels as though something is going to snap somewhere but touch wood it hasn't yet. A bit difficult for me as I was in the middle of what happened in this club. Steve & Martin are good mates of mine and I also have good memories and good mates in The SES. I have enough politics at work and Scooby time is my leisure time with friends. |

Select HD and full screen and check out the speedo. Will give you an idea of how it pulls. I had a wining front bearing and also noticed a nail in my tyre before this run so I was a bit hesitant of taking it flat out and backed off. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJQUH6ep8_c |

Thank you
This will give you an idea of how well RCM have done in keeping the P1 looking original with parts like this under the blue bit :) The APS 725R series FMIC http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3.../APS725RIC.jpg |

Looking absolutely cracking mate, as usual.
You are getting the hang of that camera mate, some cracking shots :-) Worzel |
Oh my god that is a rocket!! Well done lovely car, where was that?
|
Looks awful. I'll give you £100 to take it off your hands. ;)
|
LOL Steve.. deal done for a oner :)
Mayhew ... that was at RAF Marham at The MLR 30 - 130 event. That run was 2 years ago on 20% Meths. The P1 is faster now just on V Power. |
Looking fabulous Clive!!
|
Thank you mate. Hows yours? are you happy with it ?
|
Absolutely stunning car mate, that's some serious acceleration in that video, if it's quicker now then would love to see another video of it.
|
We intend to carry out some filming this summer. We know the car will go from a standing start to 60 mph and back to a standstill in just under 6 seconds as tests have proved the 60 - 0 at 2.5 secs and the best 0 - 60 has been 3.2 secs but it's really hard hooking up the LC and getting it right.
The surface, LC setting and triple plate hydraulic clutch all have a big part in getting it bang on but we will do it. I'll film the dash every time until I get it right :) |
