do any of you guys no if you can skim brake pads down and if you can anybody in hastings that does it.

there not for me james,its on my brothers old merc,brought new calipers and brake pads and now his wheel is hitting the caliper.didnt happen with old worn pads.

I can't see how the pads can effect his clearance, bigger disks will

I think he means horizontally.
If the calliper had pistons one side of the disc only like the scoob 2-pot fronts, then the sliding half may sit closer to the wheel with new pads than with worn ones.
